You did replace the engine, so chances are; the iac, got faulty, or you have a bad wiring to the same valve.

2003 crankes but wont start has codes 11 14 15 20

11 - Cylinder Identification Sensor
14 - Intake Air Pressure Sensor (Pipe System)
15 - Throttle Position Sensor (for Throttle Valves)
20 - Intake Air Pressure Sensor / Atmospheric Pressure Sensor

with those codes being tripped im guessing there is a major vacume leak, or no engine compression.

2000 r1 idle hangs

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Throttle cables improperly adjusted, pinched or need lubrication.
2. Idle adjusting screw needs to be backed off.
4. Air fuel mixture adjusted too lean start with 2 full turns.
5. Intake system air leak.
6. Fast idle choke ramp is not releasing.
7. Broken throttle return spring.
8. Damaged diaphragm or slide.
9. Faulty MAP, TPS, ATS, O2, sensors or wiring/connector

How to set my idle mixture screws on 2000 r1

Hi, Merlin the carburetor throttle shaft wheel has two cables the cable closest to the right side of the bike is the throttle cable and the one closest to the left side is the idle cable. Right about the middle between the two is the idle adjustment bolt it faces out towards the air filter end of the carb . The engine should be at operating temperature with the enrichener off to set the idle between 950-1050 rpm. Turn the idle adjustment bolt clockwise to increases idle speed and counterclockwise to decrease idle speed. If you have access to your air fuel mixture bolt you may adjust it as well if not there is a video below on how to gain access, make sure you start with clean or new spark plugs. Gently turn the air fuel mixture bolt clockwise until it starts to bottom out "STOP" do not over tighten as it will damage the taper on the end, now back it out 2 full turns to establish a starting point start the engine and check the idle rpm's and adjust the idle adjustment bolt accordingly for 950-1050 rpm if necessary, adjust the air fuel mixture bolt 1/4 turn at a time and let the engine settle for about 10 seconds, clockwise for a leaner mixture and counterclockwise for a richer mixture you are seeking the highest rpm your air fuel mixture bolt can acquire without going past 3 full turns from bottom then readjusting the idle adjustment bolt back down to 950-1050 rpm If you can not detect any rpm change and can not stall the engine by turning the air-fuel mixture bolt all the way in then your pilot/low-speed jet is too big. Final adjustment should be made with a clean air filter mounted to the carburetor. I just got a 2000 zr 7 and it has good compression but smokes after a few minutes of running. The far left cylinder fouls the plug, as I said it has good compression, but has been sitting for 3 years, how...

What color is the smoke? A blue-ish smoke is burning oil, a blackish smoke is unburnt gas. If the plug fouled with gas or oil? Does the plug foul at idle, or while riding it? Full throttle? or partial throttle? Answer those questions and you will know if you have a an oil leak in the head or overly rich mixture at idle, or during an open throttle position.

It sounds like too much gas (since you say it has good compression -- did you do a real compression check?). I'd get the carbs synch'ed and make sure they all have their idle mixture screws set correctly.

How can you turn down the idel car runs wayto fast.

You will need to play with the idle air control motor or adjust the throttle cable. Lots of times when the vehicle idles to high there is a vacum leak or broken rubber hose sucking in excessive air. To find it you can take throttle body cleaner and spray under hood. If the idle bogs down then you know you have a vacum leak that needs to be repaired.

RPM surges intermittently from 1000 to 2000 at idle or slow speed

ok a couple of things to try one is loosen the throttle cable so it has a little play in it and then you can check for vacume leaks using carb cleaner if rpms change you have a leak

High idle all the time on a 1988 5.0 litre engine in a f150

lift hood while running and lisen for a vacum leak and check all vacum hoses. if you dont find a vacum leak then replace the idle air cotrol valve. if the check engine light is on then make sure the code is not for the throttle position sensor. if so then replace the throttle position sensor.
