Question about 1985 Honda GL 1200 Interstate Gold Wing
Oover the winter the battery
died, replaced battery ran great, but later I left key on,dead battery,
charged the battery but the bike will not start.
Tried charging the old battery for 48 hrs, did not disconnect the battery cables while doing this. Charged at 2 amps low cycle charge. Charging gauge went from 0 charge to fully charged, but still no luck.
Replaced battery with a new one and had no power of any kind. Dead. Voltage tested good. Checked the fuses in the fuse compartment in the gas filling compartment.
With charging with the cables connected could it have blown a fuse or fusible link, if there is one,?
Any other ideas as to what the problem may be?
Put a new starter on ,now it seems to be very noisy in where the gears are since i put the new one on

First have the battery(s) tested. A number of car parts places will do it free. The test must be under load. Voltage may be fine in a discharged battery. In a 1985 Gold Wing the problem may be in the ignition switch. have the switch checked out.
