Hi, I will try to give the most info on this. I have a 1997 honda accord vtec engine automatic transmission that was given to me. car seems in pretty good shape except for high mileagee 385000kms on it, I have put 10,000kms on it myself.
lately, a metal griding or vibrating noise has been hapennig intermittently, but gets worse and worse. at first it was only happening when idling at stop position in drive, now I notice it when I'm driving, slowing down it gets worse and when dead stop its crazy noisy, until i stick it in neutral, noise stops. put it back in drive and the noise comes back, itll fluctuate if I'm turning steering from left to right or releasing and re applying brake pedal, enough to move a little bit forward. noise seems to be coming from middle of vehicule, around flex pipe area, any ideas?
I dont know much about what kind of maintenance the last owner had done except for the timing belt and water pump replacement prior to him giving me the vehicule. I have just flushed the transmission fluid, replaced brake lines, pads and rotors all around, and I had the oil pan gasket replaced

yesterday I jacked up my car and checked the heat shields, un bent one that seemed to be touching the exhaust pipe near the back wheel lhs, took wheel off and sprayed WD40 on all of my brake components, not only did the noise stop, but a check engine light that had appeared a week ago turned off.. what would be my possible repairs needed now? is there a sensor around the wheel that might act up if dry??
