The 1981 Suzuki GS750L does not have contact points. It uses a signal generator instead.

I have a 1981 suzuki gs 750 engine on a quad. i finally got it running but it runs poorly. i cleaned the carbs twice and put new spark plugs in it. its running on the two cyclinders that farthest away from...

Is the fuel tank located above the carburetors at about the same level as the original bike? If not, you may have to install an electric fuel pump to get the pressure at the carburetors about the same as the original bike (guessing about 1-1/2 to 3 PSI). I assume that you have checked things like firing order, timing, throttle slide balance, compression, and equivalent exhaust system. Did you see and hear the engine run before you installed it into the quad chassis? Hope some of this helps!

Can you use a lock set from a 1980 gs 750 on a 1981 gs 750

seat lock yes, ignition lock if it fits in the hole ,you'll have to get a wiring diagram on line and match the wires by what they operate,if your really lucky wires run the same stuff and are the same color.

Installing points on a 1979 gs 1000

The points gap is .015 when the cam is at the high point. Parts can be found at www.babbittsonline.com/parts/viewbybrand/parts.aspx No question was asked so I am guessing this is the information you are looking for. Please rate my answer.

To get you close set them about 10 degree past TDC. This would be a good starting point.

Clip-ons to fit a 1978 Suzuki GS 750

If i were you i would not do this mod. You are going to end up with a ugly top triple tree. Rather find a lower set of bars off another bike. They are all the same diameter tubing.
