Yes, you need a harness. Did you have a question about that?

2005 Chrysler T&C I had a short in my trailer wiring. Now the dash does not lite and none of the instruments display. Brake lights and turn signals dont work.I have checked all fuses in main fusebox.

You say you had a short. That short may have heated up to the point where it melted, and also melted the wires in the harness. This now shorts everything. Start from the rear of car and work forward. Look for melted wires. If you find the problem, don't cut all wires, do one wire at a time. The first short should be in the area of all the damage, and may have started buy a wire that was rubbing up against metal to the point where it shorted out. Take your time. Good Luck Friend.

High Gregg my previous question About led panel going blank, My make and Model of bike is 1991 Honda Goldwing GL1500 Aspencade

Hi, Steve thanks for getting back to me I'm guessing due to the age of your bike it's probably a wiring issue the insulation gets brittle and starts to crack first thing I would do is check your instrument fuse if you have one next I would check the connection between the panel harness and the main wiring harness look for corroded, loose or broken pins. I found a free service and owners manual for you should have a wiring schematic in the electrical section for more information about your question and valuable "FREE" downloads that you will need please click on the links below. 96 dodge intrepid brake lamps do not turn off. already replaced brake lamp switch. lights stay on even after removing fuse. please help

Hi,
Hmmm... sounds like a power( live line ) melted the insulation and fused together w/ the brake line, thus it powers up your brake light.

Check your rear brake wire harness leading to the front connection main harness., if the harness are covered w/ plastic insulation, cut the insulation and look for a wire that melted and fused together.
If you found the wire, seperate it and put some insulator tape to prevent power line shorting.
The power line usually colored RED.
Hope that helps!

I have a 82 gl 1100 goldwing. The previous owner

The fuse on the starter solenoid is the main fuse for the bike. If that fuse was removed and replaced with a wire, you could melt down the entire harness or even burn up the cycle. The short that was popping the fuse has probably melted part of the harness or popped fuses in another part of the bike. Start checking in the main fuse box in the fake tank for shorts. Also check the solenoid with the main fuse for melt down, good luck.

89' banshee power trouble

that is a possibility. i would make sure that all of the connections leading from the battery to the coils are good . if that doesn't help the coil/s may be going bad or getting old ( if the coil/s are starting to go bad it works fine at lower rpms because the coils dont have to work as hard and have more time to charge up between each charge release)

1997 nissan pickup stopped running with smell of electrical burn. I noticed some melted wire harnesses coming from the batteries positive terminal. It was not the main battery terminal cable but rather...

Those wires need to be replaced or repaired. They probably were rubbing together and shorted out, not uncommon in older vehicles. If you do it yourself, make sure you replace them with the same gauge (size) wire and use heat shrink tube on your joints. Do them one at a time so you get them hooked up right.
Once you get them repaired you may find other electrical problems that have occured because of it, it all depends on where they went.Hope this helps.
