My boulevard S50 wont start up. It was real hard getting it to start that the battery would keep dying on me. So i replaced it with another battery and it started that day. It was sitting for a few days and now it wont do anything. Im assuming the battery is dead but dont know why. So, if i get the battery going what can i do to make it crank over easier?

Either a bad starter, or the bike is not charging.
Did it work for you for awhile after you changed battery's? If it did then chances are you have a bad connection, a bad regulator or a stator went out.

If it never started after you changed batterys, it's problably the starter.

It started a couple times but then it was just trying to start up and never did after that.

Check positive battery cable sometimes there is a fusible link built into the cable. Also you could have blown the main fuse.

Would a battery have enough juice to run blinkers, horn, but just cut out when trying to start

yes the accessories dont use that much amperage as a starter will try boosting and have battery tested unless you know what had drained battery

My 1997 cameo wont start and the radio dont turn on but the lights work and the horn works i bought a new battie but it wont start

There must be enough juice in the new battery to run the lights and horn. Check the starter. It should at least turn over trying to start on a new battery.

change the battery. It takes alot more power to turn an engine over than to hond a horn. Your carburetor and gas tank likely need to be cleaned out also if they were not drained before storage

No power to odometer no power horn

You never will know for sure UNTIL you take it apart.
  • I would start with the fuse box. If you find a bad fuse, disconnect the horn before putting in a new fuse. If a new fuse restores the power, reconnect the horn. If the fuse blows then it is a bad horn or a grounded horn wire or bad horn button switch.
  • Next, put a volt ohmmeter on the ignition switch to check for proper operation.
  • Check the wire connections inside the headlight housing to be sure the connections are clean, tight and that no wire is disconnected.
  • Next There may be a loose / dirty connection somewhere else on the bike. Remove the seat and gas tank to gain access to the wiring harness. Use a volt Ohmmeter. Start at the battery, then fuses and the wires connecting to the fuses. Inspect for burned wires, abraded wires, loose and/or dirty connections, bad plastic "box connectors" and loose wires.
