Runs but has loud clatter at high rpm? - 2006 Suzuki Boulevard C50

Does it disappear, or change sound if you apply slight pressure (push) on clutch pedal?

Loud chatter at high RPM could be valves or big end bearing, piston slap is generally more noticeable at low RPM.

my guess, wild, is its not noise, (rattling or banging etc)
its just too high RPM ?

the RPM is 800 RPM ,if not?idle controls are out of control

if its valve chatter you will hear it just under the valve cover pretty pronounced, but usually valve chatter gets quieter as the bike warms up, you might look into your cam chain adjuster those get loud and chatty at higher rpms.

Hardware failure,Go for a new unit.

Hummm, 2000 rpm does not seem high, really. But another item to look at is your FAN. The clutch fan fails and drives the fan full engauge. Sounds like a jeep...massive sounding, relating to engine RPM, but not necessarily different.

I mentiont his because a trans does not typically fail and give a few hundred RPM. Usually a slipping sensation is described....

the loud clattering noise you hear is the main bearing it needs replaced.the main reason for the repair men doing a runner is its not an easy job and takes time and know how.if i was you i would get some estimates on this job,i would guess they will be high because no one wants to do it.Would you not consider a new machine???????anyway good luck.adrian,,,,

Loud Clatters are not good. Does the engine turn over? If not I'd say the timing belt has broken.

Check your engine oil level.

This totally sounds like a Muffler Flange has come Loose. Have someone get in and lightly hit the Gas while you walk around the Car and find out exactly Where the sound is coming from.
