Dimming is not related to the RPM's and will do this in 1 to 2 minute intervals staying bright thankfully. It's also in the other electrical lights as well, but this does not affect the bikes running. Im thinking I need A new batterie.

when you charge the battery make sure that its cable is is loosen from the motor coz it can damage your charging system. on your case you have damage it already that's your light dims whenever you rev the rpm up. so change your voltage regulator of your charging system, charge the battery and it is done easy.

has the battery been tested, bike batteries last maybe 2 years, charge it up and have it tested, any Kragen can do it for free. doubt the problem is the alternator.

Sounds like you have water that is pooled in a connector or in the wiring harness water conducts electricity time to take covers of and expose areas and blow dry with air suspected area where water would settle relays multi plugs check each one for water.

well, its not the "circut breaker" aka the fusebox, so there has to be a problem with the regulator. when you say headlight "blows" do you mean the actual bulb burns out, the fuse burns out, or the light just turns off? it matters. on a side note, if your headlight stops working, its normal for all the other lights to get a little brighter due to the extra power for the headlight going to the others.

I agree.....The bad thing is you will have to replace both because the alternator will **** the battery
to 0 voltage..If it is bad...However..I would check all connections at battery and alternator.first...If it is just a bad connection
that you can repair... the battery will build itself back up again..If it hasnt been happening long...Although bikes are hard to work on......I have a 91- 883 sporster deluxe and even the negative cable is in a very tight area..
................Best of luck.......................hope this helps.......................metalpoet
