Engine starts but One cylinder is not firing and what should I do to fix this problem?

Hi, Rudy and the usual suspects are:
1. Severely discharged or a damaged battery, should have 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
2. Check battery terminals for damage or corrosion, check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
3. Spark plugs in bad condition or partially fouled.
4. Spark plug cables in bad condition and leaking.
5. Spark plug gap too close or too wide.
6. Faulty ignition coil, module, and or sensor.
7. Loose, dirty, or corroded ignition module connector at crankcase.
8. Faulty CKP or CMP, MAP, ETS, ATS, TPS, O2 sensor.
9. Intake air leak.
10. Water, dirt, or rust in the fuel system, carburetor and/or filter.
11. Fuel tank vent system plugged or carburetor vent line closed off.

My 2001 Hyundai elantra won't go anywhere in any gear the clutch pedal still feels good and strong though and makes no noise or chatter when engaged or disengaged where do I begin

if cable check the cable for broken wires --replace the cable
if hydraulic , replace the clutch master cylinder
even though the pedal feels good if it is a cable it may be jamming and not allowing full pressure on the clutch plate by the pressure plate
same with the hydraulic system
have some one operate the clutch pedal while you check the throw out arm at the box bell housing
It should have around 2" or more movement

Clutch is stuck and wont go into gear please help

your car will need to be diagnosed by a mechanic Tracy. It sounds like the clutch has gone. It might be that your clutch cable or hydraulic actuator might have broken. If the pedal feels different to how it used to it might be the actuator (cable or hydraulic system,) that is cheaper to replace than the entire clutch. If the clutch has gone you are best off replacing the unit as a complete unit, it is tempting to save a few pounds/dollars but this a false economy usually.

Good Luck

The clutch on my 2006 pontiac solstice feels like the clutch cable has broken. i dont even know if it has one, or what the equivalent would be. the tension feels the same, but pushing the pedal does...

The tension you are feeling is probably the pedal spring under the dash to pull the cable back.. Open the bonnet and if you see a cable in the fire wall where the clutch pedal the you have a cable operation and it will need replacing. If you see a master cylinder next to the brake master cylinder then you have hydraulic system and it have to be bled or the master cylinder replaced Talk to a reputable service shop to have it fixed.

My clutch feels really soft and wont go into gear

You have a couple of things that could have gone bad. First, you need to find out if you have a hydraulic clutch or not. If so, you should check the fluid level, fill it, and bleed the air out of the system. If your clutch is not hydraulic, check the linkage, if it's cable actuated, see if the cable is broken or disconnected. If none of the above yield anything, then your throw-out bearing went out, and you will need a new clutch.
