Counter clockwise, it has normal right handed threads. The only part with left handed threads is the pump/impeller shaft.

SOURCE: 2006 yamaha waverunner wont idle

what is it idle at? how much? remove your seat check air filter if is black oily remove it and see if that fixes your problem you may want to change your spark plugs as well # one cylinder may be starting to foul the new yamahas are the worst for fouling plugs use a cr8eb instead of the cr9eb the 8s are hotter and work better try those and let me know thank you

For a motor to run the compression needs to be over 110 PSI. The normal compression will be between 130 PSI and 175 PSI . What is important is that both or all three cylinders be with in 5 to 10 PSI of each other. If one cylinder has much lower compression than another it is an indication that motor work is necessary to fix the imbalance. With older boats it is always a good idea to pull the motors and replace the crankshaft end seals. Also it is not a boat if it does not float. Inspect the hull for damage, cracks , holes, bashes/bruises, these will need to be repaired. Figure out how to look into the intake grate and inspect the impeller and mated surface for nicks damage. Seadoo's have a replaceable plastic ring around the impeller ($80) that is easily torn up by rocks and debris. If the gap between the impeller and the ring is wide you will lose significant thrust. Only your own sweat equity will make a boat needing a lot of work a good deal. Happy Riding.

I have a 1999 1200XL Waverunner and while riding it lost 1/2 its power. I changed the spark plugs in it they looked pretty worn. But I can only get 1/2 the power. It takes off great for a few minutes...

Always good to start with a compression test to make sure the cylinders haven't lost compression (power). If all are equal and above 100psi you are good. It may be a cavitation problem... (too much air leakage into the jet pump) a gasket kit may resolve this issue if it is over reving on accelleration.

My '94 yamaha waverunner 3 runs great for the first 30 minutes. After that it will run fine at idle and just above but the rest of the throttle it just bogs, like it is running out of gas or has some kind...

Could be a bad temp sensor. The bog is a rev limiter to keep engine from running full throtle when hot or when there is another problem. You can bypass the temp sensor and see if that takes care of problem. The parts about 100.00. I disconnected mine a now run a temp gauge which I mounted on the right side just above oil gauge.

You should check your feul filter or maybe the feul tank it could be you have trash in your tank and it takes a few minutes to pick up the trash and restrict feul flow possibly not clogging the filter all the way allowing just enough feul for it to idle
