Anything connected to anything metal on a car is a ground, all metal on a car is grounded unless the actual negative from the battery is failing to ground to the car, and that comes from the - side of the battery should be a black wire.

Where is the ground wire of a 2005 chevy venture located?

Hi Tony:
All ground wires ultimately connect to the negative terminal of the battery.
If you look at the battery, the heary wire from the negative terminal will be connected to "ground", that being a bolt to the frame. (Often the alternator bracket)
The positive wires go to switches, solenoids, and fuse panels.
Power goes through those locations to various devices which are connected to "ground", thus completing the circuit.
There can be any number of ground wires since they are required at many locations to complete the curcuits.
Hope this helps.

On my 2001 Nissan Quest 3.3L #5 cilynder miss fire replace sparkplugs, wire, distributor, and injector still miss fire so I hook a noid light to it, it won't light up at all can it be the ECM and if you...

I don't know where it is, probably under the passenger side dash. But before condemning the ECM, check the wiring to that injector. First try to determine if it is the power wire or the ground wire for the injector which is lost. With key on, the yellow power wire should have voltage on it at the injector connector. This is independent of the ECM-only the ground wire goes into the ECM, to be internally grounded to pulse the injector. The #5 ground wire is a yellow-green wire.

If you have voltage on the power wire to #5, key on, then we know either the ground wire is bad (broken or open) to the ecm -or the internal ground for that injector is out, inside the ECM.

To determine whether it is the ground wire or the ECM, you will have to locate the ECM, pull the electrical connector off to it (Be sure and take the negative battery post off, first.), then locate the yellow green wire at pin #106 of the ECM electrical connector. Now test the continuity of that wire from the injector connector to the ECM connector-use a voltmeter set to ohms. If the wire has continuity, then the ECM must have a problem- the internal injector driver for #5 may have failed. Also look for a bent pin at #106, or anything amiss in the electrical connector. In most cases, it is not the ECM but a wiring problem.
Good luck. To locate the ECM, register for free at autozone.com, listing make, model, and year. Look under "repair guides", then component locations-it should tell you the location of the ECM.

Ground Connector "G304" location

Hard to believe the ground would be that far away. I worked on my son's '95 Chrysler sedan, and had to find the power windows ground. It was behind yhe trim of the left kick panel, just below where the bundle of wires from the door entered the cabin. You should check there.
If you have a hot wire at the master switch, you can check the ground right from the master switch. Put positive lead of a voltmeter or testlight on the hot wire (key must be on) and negative lead into the ground terminal for the switch. If the ground is good, meter will show battery voltage or the testlight will light. If the ground is lost, nothing on the meter-The chrysler had a broken ground wire right in the door opening, Maybe you already checked and have no ground...the ground is likely close to where the wires enter the cabin. Good luck.

Pcm is not grounding injectors. need a pin diagram and ground location diagram

Ground points are in different locations throughout wiring harness. If you had any work done to engine it is very possible to have missed one of the grounding eyelets during the process of putting things together. Check along wiring harness in any area you can see or reach to try to locate any loose or disconnected ground looks.

Ground Splice Pack Location, 2001, 3.5

I'm not sure where the Splice Pack SP100 is but I can tell you what grounds fixed my AC problem.

I have a 2001 Aurora. The first two times I had intermittent air conditioning problems it was two different ground wires that needed to be re-attached. You can find the ground wires by taking off the shroud underneath the front portion of the engine. There are two bolts that screw into the engine. They can be taken out with a 15 mm wrench. I had to put new ends on the ground wires.
