It probably has nothing to do with the lay down. "FL" stands for Fuel Injection. The on board computer that monitors the injector system has detected a problem. It could be a partially plugged injector, weak fuel pressure in one cylinder, trouble in the fuel mapping at the mid-range, any one or more of about 21 different things. You will need to take it to the dealer and have them read the system to find the problem(s).

A “very helpful” rating for this answer? Thanks!

The filter was not mentioned. Yes, a restricted airflow could richen the mix and could cause an err reading. Not to worry, If the engine runs, the rich mix is not going to do any harm. Ride to the dealer and let them have a look at it.

I need to raise the handle bar on diamondblack Odyssey DB78 mountain bike. It has a "cartridge system inside" stamped on the top post around the allen key. I loosened the alley key but...

Simply web search for "raise the handle bar" and you get lots of resources.

A major limitation is the steerer tube length. No matter how many times you cut a steerer tube it won't get longer.

Getting Riser Bars or simply flipping the stem over or getting one with a different rise and reach might give you the added height you need. If you LIKE the handlebars, the stem is the best and least-invasive option as most new ones come with front loaders (detachable front caps) that allow replacement without stripping components off one side of the handlebar. In minutes a Bicycle Shop could swap any number of them onto your bike for you to try.

If you had purchased the bike at a reputable Bicycle Shop they would have fit the bike to you before you took it home.

The side stand kill switch may be out of position, Starter button wire has come disconnected somewhere along the way? Is there power from the button to the solenoid when the button is pressed. If so, get a new solenoid. If not, trace the wire back to the button and find where it has come disconnected.

Really stiff turning. I am looking at a 2008 CBR 600 on craigslist and when I took it for a ride, the handlebars were extremely stiff. It's hard to describe, but when doing a tight turn the handlebars...

take a riding course... the instructor will tell you to push the handle bar to the opposite side you are turning when running about 30mph and you really dont turn the handle bar when turning at a high speed. in low speed, handle bars should not be very stiff. maybe check tire pressure.

Bike gears

usually there are 2 levers on each handle bar, one lever lowers the gear while the other one raises the gear. usually the right handle bar has the shift for the gears on the rear wheel, while the left handle bar has the shift for the pedal gears

I fell on my bike and the handlebars and stuck to the right side.

Depending on the bike, you will most likely have a nut at the top of handlebar stem or two socket screws at the side of the stem that grip the front fork. In either case you need to loosen them slightly, reposition the handle bars and then tighten up. Quite often however if you stand in front of the bike with your legs on either side of the front wheel and turn the handle bars their is enough slip to move them back. Be carefull you dont strain anything if you dont back the threads off.

Sounds a lot like cable stretch. Have a local bike shop replace all the cables and do a derailleur adjustment. Costs is usually under $40 complete.
