Question about Harley Davidson XL 1200 C Sportster Custom Motorcycles
1200 custom, 2005. After quarter turn the dip stick is positioned wrong way with the top cover of the dipstick not flush with the oil tank when the dip stick is pushed in. Just occurred suddenly. The dealer gave me a new one. After 2 weeks of working fine it gave the same problem!

Hard to diagnose this without seeing it. Best to go back to the dealer and ask why.

Maybe it wasn't flushed and there was still some old oil in it.
Do these things have a level indication?
If the level is right, start the bike and run it for a minute or so, watch the oil light. Then stop it, leave it a few mions to let the oil settle in the sump and check it again.
What I mean by flushing out, have a look at how it's done on a different type of bike -
