I am sorry but I do not have the knowledge to share from that year. But as your question is still unanswered here might I suggest that you go to a motorcycle shop or an H-D dealership service department where a shop foreman might be able to assist you.

A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

I worked as a PDI @ riders in b'ham for a while and had to change a few rear wheels, the 1st thing is to deflate the tire then use a coat hanger wire that is strait. Place the wire @ the center of the axel bolt head and then following the swing arm up to the center of the swing arm bolt head, then use a zip tie to mark the coat hanger. Then move to the other side and check to seeif they are the same . They should be. Then move to the disc break and remove the calliper, do not remove the break line. Once you do this you can loosen the axel nut. I assume you have the back tire off the ground, so now you can move the wheel to the front and remove the drive belt. now you can remove the axel and drop the wheel down and out . do this opposit to put it back on remember to use your coat hanger to reset your tension on the drive belt , hope this was helpfull.

I can help you with the wiring diagram but it will be the complete diagram. I have never seen just a turn signal only type wiring diagram. But, there's nothing to a '74 model Ironhead turn signal system.
All the wires for the system were gray but had these little "colored rubber bands" on the ends of the wires near the signal lights. The violet bands were for the left side and the brown bands were for the right side turn signals
Now, I cannot send the wiring diagram through this forum as it will not allow for an attachment. If you will contact me directly, I'll send you a wiring diagram as a jpeg attachment via e-mail. My address is email@example.com.
