Hi and welcome to the site,

Almost always, your desribed problem indicates a blown main fuse. The main fuse holder is usually integrated with the starter motor relay. To locate this relay, follow the big cable from the battery's + terminal.

Others to check would be the battery cables and the harness / connector leading to the ignition switch.

Would appreciate updates.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

Battery draining

the clock you see when your bike is running is always running . even when the bike is off. it has happened to me with mine. if the battery is in poor condition it will lose charge just because of the clock.

Try changing your starter motor relay under the hood or its possible the starter has simply went out. if high mileage is present.

I have a 2003 Suzuki VL800 turned the key on everything powered on hit the ignition switch to start it heard a click from under the seat then the bike went dead. Checked the battery and all the fuses...

Sounds like a possible stuck relay, a bad connector or low battery amperage. Try this to help troubleshoot. Put a volt meter on your battery and check voltage with key off, should be 12.2v at least, turn the key on and check,---then hit the starter switch---you should see a drop in voltage as the battery power goes to the starter---if no voltage drop then power is not going across your start switch. Of course, make sure battery is at full charge, has no dead cells, terminals are clean and tight, and especially the ground. Many times i have found the ground cable going to the frame in bad shape, (you can't see the corrision, u have to remove the cable) this will cause all kinds of problems... no start being one of them. I hope this helps, let me know what you find.

02 suzuki volusia wont start battery good but nothing happens when key turn to start

Check your fuse box, your main fuse is probably blown. Some times the main fuse is located on or by the starter solenoid. If all the fuses are good you may be having problems with a dirty or broken contact base on your ignition switch.

Battery good, bike dead

At first glance sounds like the battery is bad. The voltage you read across a battery with no load is not a good way to test. Batteries should always be load tested. Also if you still have the original battery from a 2003 bike you definitely need to replace it.
