Yes, but usually the problem is low coolant level or thermostat placed on the bottom of radiator. This one will turn the fan on when coolant is over 85/90 oC.

My honda did the same thing. I chked the fan relay fuze and bam it was blown because my sister drove it in a snow bank and got snow in the fins of the fan when it went to turn on it blew the fuse chk that then chk ur rad cap seal if the cap wont build psi it affects cooling. Chk the rad for dirt in the fins. Chk ur thermostat inside the engine if its stuck closed u need a new one. And finally if ur coolant pump is belt driven chk belt tension. There is a little hole on top of the pump if u heat the car up does coolant spray out of the hole on top the pump if so ur pump is shot. Good luck

C 220. How do l find the fuse for electric fan?

I recommend checking the rad cap, sometimes they need to be replaced because they get stuck closed. U can test it by putting g it in hot water boiling it to see if it opens if not that is the problem

When talking coolant fans for 1993 Subaru legacy what does Rad and Con mean?

Many cars have two fans on the radiator. The rad fan is for cooling when coolant temperature exceeds a set amount. The computer will turn on the fan by activating the coolant fan relay, which sends power to the fan. The other fan is for the air conditioner. Usually it will always turn on when the a/c is used, for additional cooling of the coolant. Usually the main fan or rad fan is on the driver's side.

I dont think my fan is working

there is a fuse for every load on the car, or car will catch fire. sooner or later......
the other fact is , many fuses are shared. some have 15 loads. (park)
think fan is working, ?
which one.?
1: cab heater
2: A/C condenser fan (extreme front of car)
3: the RAD fans, (see behind RAD)

tell fan? and I can tell which fuse.
the glove box guide , has a fuse page. lost that?

my guess, ? is the fan is OUT side the drivers CAB
"think" tell me its fan 2 or 3 above.
the tests for those fans is in the FSM.

the A/C fan turns on if A/C or defrost is selected. unless its
N.Pole weather. (it has logic that cuts this fan , under some wild conditions (unstated by you) what country? what latitude?.

the RAD fan, comes on , if you. (location not stated so, wild guess...)
1: drive 20miles
2: park and idle
3: as coolant passes 200F, near 230F, the rad fans come on
this is because the RAD is near useless , parked. (no air flow)

The FSM covers these tests.

RAD = engine coolant Radiator.

2000 acura tl coolant fan after fluid change

New thermostat, installed, saw, new coolant made a little mess filling reservoir, (normal) checked fan fuse for some reason, and condenser fan fuse (xxx ?:), and temp guage, is slightly lower on gauge (than normal?) (disconnected xxxx? quit? a bit? to get to thermosta?.t no dash warning lights have a feeling I popped a relay.

ok, you did a coolant service with STAT,

and it failed.

tell us what works right and wrong, symptoms only.

over heating? parked, (fan never comes on)? as it hits 225F?

under heating? ( fan stuck on , up North can cause huge cold engine)

dash gauge stuck low. (thermostat wrong heat range 180f is best. see FSM for spec. on this temp. spec..

Dash guage varies.? oddly (air in system)?

Dash gauge too high.? (Stat put in upside-down or bleed hole (jiggle) not UP side. higher side of mount , trapping air.)

Does something wrong happen only driving?

does cap on rad hold 12-14psi pressure, hot.?

if car has fan belts, are they tight? (for sure water pump does)

Over heating

check the coolant level in the rad, then check to make sure the cooling fan on the rad is working if it is then you may have a bad headgasket that will have to be checked out with a block check that detects combustion chamber gases in the could also be a stuck closed thermostat.

Fan stays on till i pull fuse new radiator about 3 weeks ago ck engine lite on now

whoever replaced the radiator probably just spilled coolant on the egine coolant temp sensor on the rad and now its giving a false reading. Its probably reading too hott which is keeping your rad fan on. check too see where the ect is and if its wet or was wet. it might be easy to replace on a truck.

The car over heats while idling then cools as you drive

its the radiator fan running? check the fuses.
if the radiator fan does not run when the car achieves certain temperature, then your temperature sensor maybe defective.
check if you have enough coolant.

Why does my radiator fan not work

Check the 60 amp fuse in the under hood fuse block for the rad fan, if it blew the rad fan is probably seizing up and will need replacing, the other posibility is that the coolant temp sensor is not working properly and the computer does not know how hot the coolant is! and may need replacing.
