Same problem, runs fine with choke on, but when i touch the throttle it bogs out, sounds like its not getting any fuel. I cleaned out the carb and used fresh gas, but the problem persists. I'm going to try cleaning the air filter and getting a new plug. If thats not it it could be eletrical.

Swap out the carb for another if you can get one, if not bring it to a honda dealer to have it cleaned.

Once the engine starts move it off full choke slowly. It will flood the engine if you don't.

Has this 6 year old machine ever had a top-end job done? If not, then you may want to consider it. You can just replace the rings but I'd at least pull the cylinder apart and check for blow-by or a stuck ring. if your rings don't rotate freely in their channels, then it's time to replace them. If your cylinder has a glassy look to the inside walls, then it needs a hone job at a minimum. Kustom-kraft.com is an excellent choice for top-end service.. Bikebandit.com is THE place for parts.

1985 v-8 dodge ramcharger starts but won't run after starting.

This could be caused by a sticking choke in the carberettor. If it starts cold, it tells me that the choke is closed and allows for more fuel and less air to be introduced to help start the car and then once you go to accelerate, it floods the engine and wets the sparks plugs not allowing for restart. Remove the air cleaner and look down the top of the carberettor to verify the top valve closed. Start the car and go under the hood to accelerate the engine by gently pulling on the throttle linkage. Please be careful, this does have potential to "pop" so please DO NOT PUT YOUR FACE OVER THE CARB!! Will it idle? Let me know.

Husky 254 xp spark from plug but will not start plug seems to be wet

If the plug is wet the saw is flooded. Try the following to clear that condition.
Extreme Flooding by Dolfoff; Please follow this link,
http://www.fixya.com/support/t3226410
cursor down to “Best Solution”, while there click the “Was this helpful? [Yes]” button.

Once the flooding condition is cleared this start procedure works for every saw I have (7). Please read line 3 twice; both cold and warm.
Start Procedure
Cold:
  1. Ignition on/off to on
  2. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  3. Pull (close) choke, set fast idle (done when choke closed on some saws); pull starter and listen for an attempt to start. once heard (usually two pulls; no more than 4)
  4. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  5. Push (open) choke pull starter until it starts. (usually first pull)
Warm:
  1. Ignition on/off to on
  2. Set compression release – optional step even if saw is equipped with a compression release
  3. Pull (close) choke, set fast idle (done when choke closed on some saws) – Do not pull with choke closed.
  4. Push (open) choke, pull starter until it starts. (usually first pull)
Good Luck. HTH

Are the cabies flooding or runing out of fuel? pull the choke on dose it help if it does low fuel.

Drain the bowls and see if there is plenty of fuel.....If its flooding turn the fuel off or block it when the engine starts to drop clys if it starts to pick up after 10secs or so the carbies are flooding
