This sounds like a known HD problem involving the temperature sensor at the top of the engine. As it heats up the fuel management system FMS leans out the mixture. This is OK, but the HD FMS does not know when to stop. It will lean the mixture out until the bike does not run. But it could be a problem with the fuel pump suction hose.

When the engine stalls, is the fuel pump running like mad or not?

If the pump is running like the tank is empty, replace the fuel filter and the fuel pump suction hose.

If the pump is not running like mad, I'd go with the temperature sensor problem. Start with the easy stuff:

  1. Be sure the air flow over the engine is not blocked.
  2. Check the electrical connections at the sensor.
  3. Try the bike
At this point it starts involving money. You can consider having the dealer put the compute on it and see what they can find.

But if you are like me:
  1. Replace the top sensor. It is as much work to remove the old sensor and clean up the ground connection as it is to replace the sensor
  2. Try the bike.
  3. Replace the FMS. After market FMS that know when to stop leaning out the mixture are available at places like J&P Cycles.
  4. Try the bike.

If it is not fixed at this point you really need the computer analysis.

Has there been issue with 30 amp curcuit breaker needing to be changed to 40 amp on 2002 FXST

Main circuit breakers were a problem on the older bikes, problem being when over heated the would pop and you would lose all power to the bike. Now if you bike is dying and you still have power and are able to crank it but it wont start, then I'd be looking at you CPS not the main breaker. One way to tell if it's CPS is to remove it when bike doesn't start. Wipe all the oil off, take a can of compressed air blow it on the CPS to cool it down, put back in bike and start it, If it starts then the sensor is bad.

Rode home new 883;, next morning bike wouldnt start, battery weak. would not turn engine over. bike is 2009 with 40 miles, bought from dealer

how old is your battery? if it is 2 to 3 years old it may need to be
replaced . charge it up and see if it keeps charge, crank your bike
run it for a short time 4 or 5 min. shut it , and try to start it. if it
drags when cranking go buy new battery.

Heating up, shuts off, Shutting off going about an 1 hour trip. hearing small noise in front of engine. Seams to be running hot. service techs put it on dyna but no results. Shut off again next trip. ran...

Had a simuliar problem, Bike would have a total shutdown a High Temps/Low Speeds/High RPMs. Everything would reset itself after appox 2 minutes. Everything would shutdown Electric and engine.
2 Harley dealers spent 75 hours diagnosing it, dealer could not reproduce it. Last repair was to replace battery cables. Seems to have fixed it. Have ridden 15oo miles since repair. Problem reacurred once last time I rode. Again complete shutdown bike restored after 2 minutes. Did not happen again the rest of the day over 200 miles

On a 2000 Harley Davidson DynaGlide, How do I add pressure to the forks?

You can use a heavier oil or add an additional ounce over recommended. I use the Screaming Eagle fork oil, and on a 10 year old bike, you should too

2006 Dynaglide - sitting up for about a month

O2 sensor only works when bike is running. O2 sensors only sniff out oxygen and not fuel so it has no idea if the fuel is actually burned just smells oxygen and they are most effecient at several hundred degrees. Try new rather than cleaning plugs. Could be fuel pressure regulator problems. Have you changed pipes or air cleaners? Has the computer been flashed or programmed to reflect these changes?
