Question about Honda CBR 600 RR Motorcycles

1 Answer

I rode my 2005 CBr 600 for an hour then went to park it while in first gear and the bike shut off and lost all power. I mean there is nothing, not tuning over, no gauges, no lights, no sounds of a struggle, nothing. I have checked all my fuses, battery, and connections. I am lost, help

The bike will have a cut out switch for the side stand. IE if the side stand is down and you try to put the bike in gear it will either cut the engine or not let you start if at all.

Make sure the bike is in neutral and try again.

SOURCE: honda cbr 400 rr starting problem

i could not find a schematic of a 96 cbr400rr, so guessing this bike is not from the USA. however, there should be a master fuse near the battery on the positive side mounted to the battery box somewhere. i would check this fuse first to see if its burned out.

also, is battery fully charged? might have to top charge the battery to get good juice if its old (>3 years) and been sitting for a bit.

good luck.

SOURCE: Hi my honda cbr 600 fl 1991 the bike pulls great

im not sure if this model has a fuel pump but follow your fuel line and see if it does wen u find it remove black plastic cap and check the points contact breakers are in good conditon ie not worn uneven or worn out and that they open and close.check your air filter spark plugs and your carbs could have a blocked jet so get them cleaned and balanced.
