I would not use 5W20. 10W40 motorcycle oil is recommended for most conditions.

SOURCE: can I put synthetic oil in a 1987 honda goldwing

Yes, Honda recommends 10w-40 year round. For hot weather or for long trips 20w-50 is good. Use only JASO MA certified motorcycle oil . DO NOT use any oil that says ENERGY CONSERVING on the label. It will shorten transmission gear and wet clutch life. Both Amsoil and Mobil One make excellent full synthetic motorcycle oils. Your engine will run cooler and shift smoother. You should also consider synthetic hypoid gear oil in your rear end, it will also benefit from less friction and will run cooler .

SOURCE: Will Castrol Power RS Racing 4T synthetic oil do

Synthetics work great in Goldwings, but it does need to be a motorcycle oil for wet clutch's. Look for the JASO MA rating for Japanese engines on the bottle. Do not use oils that say ENERGY CONSERVING on the label, they will shorten the life of the gears and wet clutch.

SOURCE: What non synthetic oil is

From reading countless opinions of other Goldwing owners, it seems the majority prefer Mobil Delvac 1300 Super Motor Oil 15W-40 and the
Purolator PL14610 PureONE Oil Filter.

I have been using this oil and filter on my 2008 GL1800 with 6000 mile change intervals and haven't had any problems. I currently have 33,*** miles.

Of course mother Honda suggest their oils but any good 10W40 motorcycle oil will do form most application. I personally recommend a synthetic motorcycle oil. Amsoil 10W40 motorcycle oil to be specific and no I am not a dealer.

What non synthetic oil is best for the GL 1800 Goldwing? What oil filter other than Honda brand.

Okay I don't understand why on this earth would you not want to use a synthetic oil in your GL1800. Synthetic oils have proven themselves for longevity, superior performance and the list goes on. You are riding one of the best if not the best performance touring motorcycle in the world why destroy it with an off brand filter and petroleum based oils? Sorry can't help you with a "best" non synthetic oil or filter for your Goldwing.

When hot is hard to find neutral goldwing gl 1100 inter 1981

You probably need to use a full synthetic motor oil. Use JASO MA certified 10W-40 or 20W-50 . I use Amzoil 20W-50 and it solved the problem of not being able to find neutral in rush hour traffic when the bike gets really hot.

What oil to use--2008 gl1800

depends on where you live. if you live in a mild climate 50-90's-- any 10-40w is good. colder weather you ride in just decrease the viscosity of the oil you choose.

I need to know what kind of oil to use for a Honda motorcycle.

You need an SE oil, Wal Mart used and maybe still does sell a motorcycle oil (not their brand). You probably will need 30 weight or a multi viscosity (which I use 20-50). Buy a good oil, maybe a synthetic with that rating. Rear final takes 90 weight in most instances except cold weather. A parts house or bike shop will sell the right oil. Just buy the best oil you can, and keep it changed frequently & the wing will just about go forever, Hope this helps you with your scoot, Rick
