SOURCE: My Ducati Monster M600 Dark won't start. I started

Park the bike out of bright sunlight. Take one plug out and hold it (with the ignition lead attached) against the side of the engine. Crank the engine and look for a strong blue spark. Repeat with each plug. If you don't see a strong spark, you need to clean, replace and or/regap that plug. If that doesn't fix the problem, have your coils checked.

I have to have you start at the basics first on this one. Check the spark plugs, the plug wires, and most importantly, the timing belt tension. Check all connections going to the crank sensor, and also check the rectifier connections and the coil pack connections as well as the spark boxes. Also, when was the last valve adjustment/belt replacement? Usualy the injected Duc's don't ever pick up missfire conditions. The Carburated versions are sometimes known for it, but usualy it's the result of the carbs out of synchronization. I would be willing to say this is a tune up issue rather than a broken part issue. If it were a broken part, you'd be experiencing the issue almost all the time, not just at high rpm's and high load. Check the tune up, let me know if anything looks out of the ordinary in there.

My 620 dark ie is running rough. Really coughing and farting at the lower revs. Struggles to get through the bad patch unless I really open it up. It was running sweet last week.

Start with the basics. Check the spark plugs, fuel quality, and compression. Coil failure is more common on ducati's than other brands, so check spark. Also, make sure the airbox is assembled properly, and that the cover is not loose.
