Question about 1988 Yamaha XV 535 Virago DX
My 1985 virago xv1000 rear cyl. is flooding out. It pops and backfires, but if i "get on it" it seems to clear up and do alright. If both cyl. are firing and I stop for a traffic light, just before it's time to go I loose the rear cyl. again. But if I catch it before it stalls out and get going, then it "clears" back up. This is becoming more and more frequent. When I get home and pull the plug, it's wet and black-even since a very recent cleaning.
Thanks for any help.
My XV 1000 RH 130000km,started oiling the rear clyinder during a 500km ride in heavy rain, after some diffulculty I discovered that the rear fuel tap had a failed oring that was allowing fuel to flow thru the vacuum lines which apart from causing rich running also contaminated the crankcase oil,Ive since fitted manual taps and an 1100 engine, cheers, Jim Doherty firstname.lastname@example.org Auto Engineer NewZealand
