Take great care on reassembly ,as the spacers may be of diffrent lenghts which will if put back wrongly will throw the wheel off its true running centre .and cause problems .Allway remember to mark parts or do a drawing when removing and stripping down for repair or servicing ..It saves a great deal of problems .Try and assemble the spacers and look to see if the wheel is in line with the belt drives .

Not much on newer hogs but I'd guess if the spacers aren't the same length when you got the wheel on you'd see that the wheel isn't centered.Try again.Put the end thru the swing arm put on a spacer,push it thru the hub,put on the other spacer,push it thru swing arm put on washers and nut[loosely]and check the alaignment.Like I said I'm not much.

The wheel not being equally spaced under the fender is typical of all Softail motorcycles. They have an "offset" wheel stance. I don't know exactly why but they are designed this way.

The three spacers you are talking about is actually one spacer and two seal races. The two seal races go into the wheel bearing seals on either side of the wheel. This provides a smooth finish for the wheel bearing seals to ride on. The other "spacer" is a bit larger and goes on the belt side of the wheel and the rear brake caliper bracket acts as the spacer on the other side. Anytime you take the wheels off your bike, always mark and make a drawing of the positions of the spacers.

The order of spacers on the rear wheel startering from the brake side

With the larger outside diameter on the outboard side hold the external spacer between the belt sprocket and the rear swingarm and then slide the axle through left side of the swingarm, the external spacer and the belt sprocket into wheel hub and then when the axle emerges from the hub on the brake disc side of the wheel, push the axle through the short external spacer, the brake caliper bracket and the right side of the rear swingarm.

How do i view 2010 rear axle assy street bob

Get hold of a service manual OR go to dealer and ask for photocopy of the relevant parts breakdown picture page.

Right side you have axle going through swing arm into a short spacer, through right wheel bearing, internal spacer, left wheel bearing out the left side through a longer spacer, and then the swing arm and then on the axle you will have a washer, cone nut and an "E" clip. Inside the swing arm ends you have the belt adjustment pieces that normally would not come out of the swing arm ends. And of course on the right side you would also have the brake caliper mounting and support arm.

You need a parts book schematic, service manual does not really show much. Right side insert axle through adjusters in swingarm then brake caliper support arm then short spacer then into bearing in wheel then there is a spacer in the hub between that bearing and the left bearing so then through those and out left side through long spacer into swingarm and adjuster and then out left side of swingarm, install washer, cone nut and then "E" clip.

Need to change the rear tire, and i dont know how to take off the rear wheel, dont want to take anything apart that i shouldnt

If you're having problems getting the wheel off, it might be advisable to simply take it to a dealer. Taking the wheel off is fairly straight forward but putting it back on is more difficult. The belt has to be tensioned correctly with the wheel straight within the swingarm.

You must get the rear axle out. On some models, you have to remove part of the exhaust system. Make sure you remember the arraingement of any spacers on the axle. Remove the bolts that hold the rear caliper in place and place it out of the way. Be careful not to crimp the brake hose. When installing the wheel, it must be straight within the swingarm and the belt must have the proper tension. Too tight and damage can be done to the transmission bearings. Too loose, you'll get a "squeak" whenever you shift gears and rapid wear of the belt and rear sprocket. Torque axle nut to 50 Foot Pounds.
