The lo headlights do not work on my 2005 Softail Deluxe. The high setting works.

Hi Anonymous, you probaly have a bad head lite bulb that needs replacing or a bad hi-low beam switch and or wiring issues. To help you with wiring issues, you can go to the following website for a wiring diagram of of a couple of 2006 FXD's that should have the same color wires as your 2005 FLSTNI as far as the headlite and hi-low beam switch are concerned. Good luck

When rideing. If I twist go.a little faster small engine light comes on. Inside speedo. When I ease off. 10 seconds later it goes off. Bike runs fine.

You might be low on oil and losing pressure at higher revs causing the oil light to go on.
Find out what light it is so you have a better idea what's going on!

2005 deluxe oil light comes on when idling. goes off when excelling, oil levels are fine, no leak. do you think it's the sensor?

It could be the oil pressure sending unit or it could be that the engine is idling too low. Your engine should be idling somewhere around a thousand RPM. If your engine is equipped with a carb, the idle stop screw it at the top of the carb toward the front of the bike. Turn it clockwise to increase the idle speed. Make sure you're using 20W50 oil.

Good Luck

How many quarts of engine oil do I need for a complete oil change of my 2005 yamaha tour deluxe?

Four, but you'll have part of a quart left over. The capacity of the crankcase is stated to be 3.5 (US) quarts without filter, 3.7 with filter change. The clutch and transmission are lubricated/cooled by the same oil, so I'd recommend a new filter at every oil change.

39,000 feels like slippage at power band. feel it pulling but not as much as rpm going up. just bought, loks very well taken care of, most likely stayed inside. is this low mileage for clutch worn out??

it does seem to be low klm to be clutch wear, you may need to change your oil as if somebody put in a friction modified oil in at last oil change this can make the clutch slip,go to your bike shop and ask for your best oil match for your bike.try this could also be as simple as clutch adjustment.hope this helps

How do I check the oil level on a 2005 yamaha royal star tour deluxe?

You should have a site glass on the side of the motor down low along the frame rail. You will need to have the bike set strait up and down to get a reading so have a friend hold it up right for you. The oil level should be inbetween the top line and the bottom line that is on the case beside the site window.
