Vacuum leak symptoms

Hi Werner, you can spray starting fluid or Brake Kleen around intake manifold to head and intake manifold to carburator, if RPM's rise you have a leak. Also check for cracks in vacuum line from carburator to fuel valve. Your carburator came from the factory set up on the lean side for maximum 42-50 MPG. The spark plugs will burn a very lite tan to white color usually white. If you are happy with your gas milage and performance and your oil temperature is between 180 and 220 then let sleeping dogs lay/lie. Good luck

Carburator leaks gas when cycle is started or running from what looks like vent hose?

Sounds to me like your float valve is obstructed by some debris. This is causing it to stay open and leak fuel. Better it leaks to your vent hose than it leaks in your engine and contaminates your oil.

You need a proper carb cleaning. Not some run in the gas tank sh*t. If the tank wasn't full when parked, chances are there is rust in the fuel system to get this out you need to disassemble the carburetor and thoroughly clean it.

Try not to ride the bike til you do this. It's a fire hazard.

VTX 1300R 07 ran out of gas and won't start, put fuel in it.

Does your bike have a petcock?

If so you have to prime the fuel bowls with gas by opening the pet **** for a minute until the fuel bowls are full of fuel THEN you set your choke if you have a manual choke THEN start the bike.

07 vtx 1300 leaking gas when bike is started

You need to pull the gas tank off and find out where it is leaking. I would say it is probaby something simple like a loose clamp on a fuel line.

The carburator seems to be overflowing.
You will have to adjust the float pin and probabely there may be some dirt and thus it doesn't seal off the flow of the gas once the float chamber is full.

Valve might be stuck in carburator and leaking from excess line

If it has dirt stuck in the needle and seat try tapping on the carb with a screwdriver handle. If that doesn't work shut off the fuel and run the bike until the carb runs out of gas. Then turn the gas back on and start it back up. That should loosen the dirt. Last resort, take apart the carb and clean it out.

1194 VT1100 trouble starting. no problems prior to letting it sit

To begin with ...try to check if there is gas in the float chamber of the carburator/carburators by unscrewing the drain screw at the bottom of the carburator.
Secondly check if there is sparks coming to the spark course remember to wipe dry the gas around the bike's engine!
If you have both of this , it should start ... you may hve to use the choke to start.
Let me know if it did start .thks .
Hope this will help!.
