Sounds like to me that you have either a to small of diameter wire, or your battery ground wire isn't attached, has a bad connection / corroded connection.
When you are cranking there is a large amount of amps that are traveling through not only the positive side cable but also through your negative side cable and if there is problems with connections or cables that is going to create heat. Another thing is that with a bad connection current will find another way to travel, so that is a strong possible why your AVS-2 wire is melting.
If you have the schematic I would locate every ground point and make sure that the wire is good and that you have good connections.

SOURCE: Oil leaking from under the seat of my Kawasaki klr250

not sure if this will help, but the crank case has a breather tube that is around that area. if the bike is on its side or has been doing wheelies, some oil can get thru the breather hose causing that problem.

SOURCE: im' trying to install a light bar.. headlight

ok. some of these bikes have existing harnesses to plug into for all the wiring connections. And in this type setup, alot of the manufacturers will have these additional lights to function only on low beam. So try high and low beam settings to see if the litebar comes on. if not, check the bar for a secondary on/off switch. if no switch, check power source and grounds. dont forget to make sure the bulbs are good. i have installed a lot of these and have the new bulbs to be bad! hope this helps you out!

SOURCE: where is the xt600e earth/ground wire connection

If your negative battery cable has been disconnected, and you can't tell where it goes, anyplace on the metal frame where you can make a good connection will be ok. You will need a sturdy bolt that you can tighten enough.

SOURCE: all the electrics under the seat melted. is there

Your regulator/rectifier has gone faulty, it is common for this part to go, it usually fries the wiring and battery.

Replace regulator/rectifier, replace melted wiring, replace battery aslo if fried.

I have a 2005 Chrysler Pacifica and neither one of the power front seats will move. I have checked all seat fuses under the hood and all looked good.

Expert: sprinkles08 replied 7 years ago. Hello and welcome to JustAnswer!
There are a number of things that can cause this and there is a service bulletin that goes over diagnosing and repairing them, but the most common problem would be that the memory heated seat and mirror module has electronically locked up or failed. This module controls memory and all seat functions and is located on the bottom of the driver's seat pan. Most likely your module will need to be replaced and a ground wire added that goes from the module to the seat frame.
Try disconnecting the battery or disconnect the module to see if it will come back to life. If not then it is possible to move the seat with a couple jumper wires. The easiest thing to do would be to unplug the connectors at the module and jump the motor right there. You would need the light green/light blue and the light green/orange wire. Jump one to positive and one to ground and the seat will move. If it moves in the opposite direction you want it to go just reverse your jumper wires and the seat will move in the opposite direction.

Incoming wire has red, black, white. What goes where

One of those wires should be green (ground wire). The two wires that are not the ground wire go to the two terminal posts, either way, and the ground screws directly to the motor housing above the terminals. Should be a green screw there. Was this electrical used on a 2 speed pump before?

My Kawasaki mule 3010 doesn't do anything when key is turned. I have changed the starter and relay. I have 12V at starter and all fuses are good. Horn and lights work. Any help?

Even if the relay under the seat makes a click when you turn the key, it can still be bad. Try jumping the hot leads and see if it cranks.

What is the cable used for-- under drivers side seat in a 1998 Jeep Cherokee Sport?

There are 3 cables under the driver's seat.
1) 1 (single wire) goes to the illumination light of the transfer case position plastic lense panel (underside) 2) 1 (single wire) goes to the seat belt harness for the seat belt warning light 3) 1 (multi-wire) goes to air bag sensor located directly under the seat.

Where is the starter relay?? ive got a kawasaki zzr 400 92?

Follow the positive battery cable. It's usually mounted pretty close to the battery box, under the seat. The positive battery cable goes directly to it.
