I also have an 06 Roadliner. I use 20w50 Lucas sythetic motorcycle oil with great results. Will later switch to Rotell T Synthetic 5w40 (Dark Blue Jug at Walmart) as it costs alot less than Lucas.

SOURCE: can i lower the seat height of my 2006 roadliner?

best way is to take your cover off your seat and shave it down about 2-3 inches...then put some memory foam in it and recover...its more comfortable and it will lower your seat height.

I have an 06 yamaha roadliner that needs a new starter motor. I am having a really hard time finding one at all, and the few I have are over $400.

Do you not have anyone locally that rebuilds starters? Otherwise, youll need to tear the starter down, and locate the faulty parts and replace them.Motosport.com has a complete breakdown of the starter,so you can buy just the parts you need, instead of a complete $400.00 starter.

Roadliner oil drain plugs

Then it sounds as if a special wrench is needed to remove the oil drain plug, unless there is an alternate way to remove it.
So what you are saying is the frame or engine case is in the way of putting a wrench on the plug?
Here's link to a PDF downloadable owner's manual,
http://safemanuals.com/user-guide-instructions-owner-manual/YAMAHA/ROADLINER-2007-_E

Ok, I saw in the manual where the oil drain bolts are located, they are in a poor spot.
I suggest you call a dealer and politely ask what wrench they use to remove the drain bolts.

06 Roadliner sparkplug

Below the tank there should be about 4 bolts holding the tank to the frame, loosen then and lift the tank enough from seat side, you should be able to access the wiring and plugs.

Air filter replacement

Remove the 3 bolts from the instrument cluster on the tank, remove the wiring connectors to the instrument cluster under the front of the cluster, remove the tank and the filter is in the top of the box under the fuel tank. You are supposed to remove the fuel lines, but if you are careful you can set the front of the tank off to the left side of the bike and support it with a cahair or something similar so that the fuel lines don't have to be reconnected. OOOOPS forgot...you need to remove the seat first.

Hope this helps.
