1/4 inch 12 point socket for pads and if you need to take off the cliper which is not necessary to just change pads, 10mm 12 point swocket.and

Cheap gas has nothing to do with it. Either you're running a bit lean or your exhaust system is sucking air in somewhere. The air mixes with what should be a too rich to burn mixture and leans it out to a flammable mixture. Then, when the cylinder fires and the flame goes into the pipe, the mixture ignites.

If your bike is fuel injected, you'll have to take it to a dealer to get the this corrected.

Changing the rear disk brakes on a 06 toyota sienna, what is the process?


-Set up jack and properly block front tires.

-Do not set parking break as this may hender removing the rear calipers. Open hood and remove the brake resevoir cap.

-Remove hubcaps if applicable,

-Loosen Lugnuts but do not remove,

-Jack up van,

-Remove tire.

-Caliper should be visible. There are two bolts or hex heads on the back side that can be a pain to remove sometimes.

-Pull the caliper off the rotor, It is recomended to have the rotors turned or replaced. With the old pad still in place, take a c clamp or brake caliper squeezer and compress the caliper

-remove old pad, take note for the reinstall of the new pad.

-reverse the steps. This is a simple break down. Hope it helps

Changing front and rare break pads in hyundia excel


this front::
  1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel/tire assembly.
  2. Remove lower bolt and caliper assembly. Position assembly aside using suitable wire.
  3. Remove brake pads and shim.
  4. Bottom piston in caliper using suitable tool.
  5. Install new brake pads and attach shim to the outer pad. Tighten lower bolt to specifications.
this for rear::

1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheel/tire assembly.
  1. Remove axle nut, then the hub and drum assembly.
  2. Remove end shoe springs, cylinder and hold-down spring.
  3. Remove shoes and adjuster as an assembly.
  1. Reverse removal procedure to install, noting the following:
    1. Apply suitable grease to backing plate shoe contact surfaces.
    2. Install shoe hold-down pin, then assemble return spring with the pushrod shortened.
    3. Pull parking brake lever fully upward. Repeat process several times.

on any toyota trucks like yours you do not need to take calipers out, just insert a screwdriver or pry bar agains the pads and calipers. but do it only one side at a time

Front brakes-2001 Nissan Sentra


You will need a jack and 2 jack stands to get the front wheels off the ground (break the lug nuts loose before lifting) and support the vehicle.

You will need the lug nut wrench (or a 1/2 inch breaker bar and 21 MM socket) to remove the wheel.

You will need a 14 MM wrench to remove the caliper bolts and possibly a flat head screwdriver to pry the caliper off of the pads if it is difficult.

You will need a big pair of channel lock pliers to compress the piston back into the caliper bore to allow room for the new pads.

You may need a hammer to hit the rotors to break them loose if they are rusted into place on the hub- a couple good shots should break them free if needed.

You will also need a wire brush and some good brake grease (available at any parts store). You will want to see any place that the pads contact a stationary surface and clean this area and apply a film of the grease to these points to prevent binding and uneven pad wear.

Do i need special tool to change the front break pad?


I'm going to assume you are talking about the front brakes since the brake pad warning light is wired to the front drivers side brake pad. Is this is the case you shouldn't put off changing the brake pads and rotors too long after the warning light comes on because you don't want to damage the caliper and cost yourself more money. Do them atleast within the next 500 miles if not earlier. The front brakes on the Jetta are standard single piston disc brakes. Buy decent new brake pads and you might as well buy new rotors instead of getting the old ones turned down (resurfaced, makes them thinner). You should also buy new brake fluid (good stuff) and flush the lines since VW recommends changing it every two years and it keeps the brake system clean and free of corrosion (saves money in the long term). Then you just jack up the vehicle, pop off the tire, loosen the caliper bolts, pull off the caliper making sure to still support it so the brake line doesn't get damaged (rig something up to hang it off the spring on the strut, i.e. bent metal clothes hanger), remove the one screw that holds on the rotor, pull off the old rotor, and remove old pads. There will be a pad sensor wire on the left front that you need to take off too. At this point you might need to push in the caliper piston in order to get the new pads seated correctly. There is no trick on the front calipers like the rear ones (the rear ones need you to turn the piston while pushing it in and is easiest to do with a special tool). You can use and old c-clamp or borrow a caliper tool fron a local auto parts store for the front. You should mount the new rotor first, then you might want to open the brake fluid reservoir (in the engine bay at the back, i.e. closest to cabin, in front of the driver), push the caliper piston back in, mount the new pads by usually sliding them on (use some brake quiet on the back if they don't have anything on them already), and put the caliper back on. The new pads might have the attachment for the sensor. You need to find out all the tightening values for all the bolts you remove and the best way for this is to buy the Bentley factory repair manual for your car (about $80). This will have the procedure I just outlined. It will also tell you how to change the brake fluid. I also recommend worldimpex.com or germanautoparts.com to buy whatever parts you need.

One thing I should mention, the rear brakes in these cars wear out long before the front brakes. If you have never had those serviced you should really look at them too. They may be down to metal on metal if the fronts are worn out.
