In a medium sauce pan, combine 1 1/4 cups of water,( or broth, tomato juice,or any other flavored stock) and 2 teaspoons of olive oil or butter. Bring to a boil and stir in 6 ounces of couscous. Cover tightly and remove from heat. Let it stand (still covered) for 7 minutes. Using a fork fluff the couscous before serving. When I use water I add a chicken boullion cube, 1/4 teaspoon of onion powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of dried parsley to it before I add the couscous. You can also add to the boiling water or stock red pepper flakes( if you like the heat), sun-dried tomatoes, golden raisins,or garlic powder. If you would like to make it a main course add diced chicken or parmesean cheese.

If frozen bagged shrimp is cooked will it say cooked on the bag

Hello, Glenn -

Once something is cooked, it stays cooked. If you have cooked shrimp, it still needs to stay refrigerated until you wish to eat it. If the cooked shrimp is frozen, you can thaw it in the refrigerator prior to eating, or keep it frozen until you wish to thaw the shrimp and eat them.

Della 12 Quart 1600-Watt Electric Pressure Cooker Multi-Functional Timer Slow Cook XL Part number: 048-GM-48261 Unable to get this cooker to slow cook.

it is possible that you have misunderstood the instructions
for a slow cooker you have low medium and high
press slow cook and on low and in 8 hours the food is cooked
I see from your statements that you expect the cooker to be set on slow cook but cook at a high temperature fast
if it says slow cook --9 hours and the temp is 125 degrees , have you waited 9 hours to see if it is cooked as the slow cooking process is by the gradual build up of heat in the container that is not expelled by radiation to the air
in a pressure cooker , that build up of heat also builds up pressure and so it cooks better
other solution--- if it is not right return it for a warranty refund or if out of warranty , junk it and get a different make

How do I use this grill? Charcoal in the larger cavity and wood in the firebox???

I assume you have the model with the side firebox? If so, when smoking you have your charcoal and wood in the firebox and the meat to be cooked in the large cook chamber. This is indirect heat cooking. Your cooker is dual purpose. You can load the large chamber grates with charcoal and cook as would with a charcoal or gas grill (direct heat cooking), or you can cook low and slow using the smoker portion. The heat comes in from the firebox and into the cook area. Ideally the temp in the cook chamber should be around 225 while smoking meats in this manner.

Google "smoker forums" and you will find a group of guys will to help you learn to cook with a smoker and share cooking secrets.

I hope this helps.
