Question about 2005 Harley Davidson FXDWGI Dyna Wide Glide
It will restart and idle good start riding agin then when slowing down for stop lite it dyes it will restart but during my ride it has lack of power or just dyes out. If I return it to idle before it shuts off it will idle a minute and I can ride maybe 1/4 mile and then same thing agin. any ideas to the problem?

Determine if any dtcs are set and if so what ones. Check engine temperature sensor. cHECK RUNNING FUEL PRESSURE ALSO.

hi its me again your problem sounds like you could have a slight air leak from your carb to manifold seal,this would make your motor run lean ,thereby requiring more fuel to richen the mixture to help on start up,the seal at fault is easy to replace with the min of tools and is sited on the rear of the carb where it is just pushed over the manifold and the carb is pushed into it,being made of rubber it is prone to cracking hope this cures your problem regards ian

SOURCE: will not idle down
You have to take it into the dealer and have them adjust your idle with the digital tech, thats the only way to set the idle on these newer injected bikes.

You charged the battery off of the battery charger with a trickle charge. The battery wouldn't charge while you're riding, because your alternator took a cr@p.
(Sorry if I seem gruff, but I'm an old biker, and Harleys are all I ride. I'm also a Harley mechanic.

3.Battery is at 13.4 volts now? What is the specific gravity of the acid in each cell? Don't have a hydrometer? Do you have a load tester? No? Since you measured the voltage, do you have a multimeter?
Test the voltage with the bike running. It should be around 14.6 volts when charging, less with the battery fully charged.
Don't get the correct reading, then you better look at alternator replacement. (Regulator is built in)

I believe there was a recall on the 2007 for exactly that problem (something to do with the clips breaking on the fuel line causing that exact problem).

sounds like the ISC sensor is going bad best suggestion is take it to your dealer for a proper test on the digital technician
