Very hard to change, it is at the bottom of the crankcase. Take of right side engine cover, you see chain, the small sprocket is for oil pump to turn. If you want to take off the pump, The clutch must go out, chain and pump sprocket and then, if you are brave, disassemble the pump inside (pipes and filter and take them out separately, pump body with effort last.

Why to change it, usually they are not a problem.
PS: the bottom sprocket is from oil pump

Is it hard to replace the water pump on a 05 dodge grand carvan ?

all depends if it has an external or internal pump. Internal pumps are in the timing cover and ran by tthe timing belt. External are not to bad to change. They are on the bottom of engine ran by an external belt.

Water pump

first you need to find out if the pump is internal or external. If external then you can do it. If it is internal then you will need to tear down front of motor which can be a job. depends on how much you know about working on cars.If internal pump you will need to set the timing again and in alot of cases you have to remove motor mounts remove pullies and on and on. can be a big job. most external pumps are not that hard to change.

My oil light keeps coming on and i changed my oil and itstill comes on. there are no oil spots unde thecar or puddles of oil .

Several issues could exist:
Faulty light - get computer code reading no code good chance its a light/short
Oil pump low pressure test with external pressure meter
Oil pressure sending unit

Once you determine you have oil pressure is good then its a fair chance you have a bad sending unit otherwise its a bad oil pump. Replacing an oil pump is not hard if you ca get the pan off without lifting the motor, Otherwise this is a big job

Oil light comes on intermittently only when driving, not when idling. Checked oil level and it is fine. Only driveability issue possibly related is when in cruise control at speeds over 60mph when decel...

it sounds like it may only be the oil pressure switch. It should be located near the oil filter. replace it and see. They are not an expensive part. The cruise control has nothing to do with the oil pressure. Hope this helps

Is the oil pump internal or external ?

On every reciprocating engine I have ever seen in a vehicle, the oil pump is located at the lowest point of the engine and submerged in oil in the oil pan which is the lowest part of the engine and is mostly rectangular in shape. Once oil has circulated to the moving parts it flows by gravity back to the pan to be pumped again through the oil filter and into the engine.

How hard is it to replace an oil pump in a 2003 spyder

The oil pump is located on the bottom side of the engine. It is actually an internal engine part. This is a difficult repair because of space restraints. Most usually you have to disassemble things to get the oil pan off, which is what is covering up the oil pump.
