Check your throttle cables,may need lubrication,especially near carb linkages,clean &lubricate,no wd-40.

Idle adjustment. idles too fast and will not shift

The idle adjustment screw on the carburetor usually has a spring on the shaft. Turn it counterclockwise to lower the idle speed. It probably won't shift because the gears are turning too fast...assuming that it's an automatic.

When my quad idle for an extended period of time it over heats. never when I am running only idleing. could this be the thermostat?

No, never leave idle for a long period. This causes low jacket water pressure for circulation and not enough air accrossed radiator. It also causes low oil pressure to the top of the head that will increase wear on the cam, rocker arms and lifters. On air cooled ATVs, this is even more drastic.

2015 Polaris 900 won't start. Was starting with fast idle, rough running with backfires, now won't start at all. Was running perfect.

fast idle start usually indicates an air leak somewhere.check carburettor bolts are tight and engine head bolts are tight.try that first

I have a 1990 klf300b3 atv starte fine idles fine some time revs an runs fine outher times misfires when trying to rev have changed plug had carb an tank cleaned when misfiring can let idle or turn of

Replace the line from tank to carb.

Next time you run it, take the gas cap off when it starts to misfire. If it runs OK with the cap loose, your cap vent isn't working.

Why does my atv runs fast idle all the time

Several possibilities, including, throttle not returning to idle position due to bent or damaged cable from throttle to carburettor. This cable may also need lubricating with light (thin) oil. Idle setting on carb may need reducing. Finding the trouble should not cost a lot if you require someone else to dignose. If you have a work book for your vehicle (recomended), just go through the troubleshooting section for that problem. It could be an easy fix yourself at no cost.

ATV 110cc idling too fast, giving no gas, it will go like you are giving it gas

check the idle screww and back it out a little bit. if this doesn't change anything then check the air/fuel mixture screw to the right of the carb. counter-clockwise will rev it up and clockwise will lower the rpm's
