Replace with good used, straighten to the original shape or order new from eBay, or thefind.com

I have a 1991 suzuki GSX600 Katana and whenever I shift there is a rattling noise like the linkagesin the transmission are boucning around or somthing, the shifts sometimes buck as well,

You may have a shift fork or two starting to go bad. When a fork gets bent, it does not move the slider gear properly. When that happens, the slider's gear dogs don't engage fully into the slots cast into the driven gears. A rattling noise occurs. When full engagement happens you get the bucking. As time goes by, the shifting pedal will get harder and harder to shift. Then you simply can't get it into or out of a gear. The bike is 20 years old, parts are getting hard to find. Finding a shop willing to work on it can also be difficult to find. The repair will probably cost between $1000 and $1700. That's pretty much more than the bike is worth. The diagram below will give you an idea of how the shifting takes place. I wish I could give you better news. Please rate my answer. Thanks. tombones49_76.gif

MOTORCYCLE TRANSMISSION PROBLEMS

You didn't say what the problems are but I will take a educated guess that the shift lever is hard to operate and you can't shift from gear to gear very well. This is a bent shift fork. If this is the problem you will need to pull the engine for a bit of transmission work.

I have a 1993 suzuki 600, and it is stuck in gear. I can't start it because I can't get it in neutral. Does anyone know what the cause and solution? Thanks!

Most likely a broken or stuck shifter fork. Unfortunatlly you'll have to take the entire engine and transmition apart to find out.

The gearshift on my 2002 GXSR 600 will only go to first and neutral.

You have a bent shift fork. Expensive to repair. Bummer. A bent fork will not move the slider gear properly and that is why the gears will not change.

I have a 93 katana it dose not ingage enought to let it go itto gear what do i do thank you

Sounds like you have a bent shift fork in the gearbox.
You will need an impact driver and torque wrench plus the normal screwdriver, pliers, etc.. Alternate to the special tools is taking it to the dealer and say "Fix it". I normally tell people to take it to the shop just so they don't get into such an involved project.

The motor comes out of the bike then turned upside down for removal of the bottom case. The gears and shafts gotta come out so you can get to the bad fork. There's much more but the idea is that you are better off having the shop do the repair..

Please rate this solution. Thanks

I just bought a suzuki gsx 600f from 1993. It is to high.

There are lowering kits available for the rear suspension then you need to drop the frt the same amount that you drop the rear, you can drop the frt by loosing the frt triple tree clamps and using a ruler let the forks come up through the same amount that you drop the rear(this will help keep the bike from over steer.

Bike wont shift in to gear from neutral

Sounds like possibly a clutch issue, or something inside the trans locking up. Your shift forks would make shifting harder/not go into gear.
