SOURCE: I neede to add oil to my Suzuki savage 650

If your Savage is the same as my old 1988 Savage, you probably checked the oil level in the sight glass on the side of the engine case. Make sure the bike is standing straight up when you check it. It is easiest to have someone else hold the bike while you bend over to check the level. If I remember correctly, the fill port should be on the upper side of the crankcase about 8 inches away. If it is not there, check the opposite side of the engine. I really miss my Savage, but after 13 years riding without having an accident, I figured I was living on borrowed time considering how blind the drivers around here are.

SOURCE: removal of fuel tank to change spark plug

There should be a bolt towards the bottom of the tank. You will have to remove Your seat to see it. Undo the bolt and slide it out. Shut off the (petcock) fuel valve first. You don't need to take off the fuel line. There should be 2 other hoses under it aswell. You may need to reconnect them if they come off.

Just bought 96 savage 9 hours ago and ... dead battery. How do I get the seat off to charge the battery?

Going by my C800, there should be a bolt at the back of the pillion seat and one or two more underneath the pillion for the driver's seat which is simply hooked under the tank.

Need to now how to take the seat off my 1999 suzuki savage 650cc

The front seat has a 10mm bolt on either side at the lower rearward part of the seat under the sides, remove bolts and lift up from the rear of the seat and slide the front out of the slide retainer at the rear of the fuel tank, the rear seat has a bolt in the cream color tab at the front of the seat, remove bolt and lift up and slide seat forward or remove the rear portion from its retaining piece at the rear. Good luck - Les

I need to change the spark plug on my 1996 suzuki savage , I have removed the seat as well as the 2 bolts that hold the gas tank under that seat ,having trouble from there it won't lift off help please

I took mine off last night for the first time. Once you remove the 2 bolts at the back of the tank then you have to work it loose. generally pull up and back on the rear end of the tank, and then up and to the left as it starts to loosen. The reason you need to pull to the left is that the fuel selector valve will start to interfere with the throttle cable once the tank moves backward, and twisting the back of the tank towards the left will let the valve go around the cable. Take a look and you'll see what I mean. Took a while working it back and forth to get it off, but I finally did. Some people recommend you drain the tank and remove the fuel valve as an alternative but I didn't need to do that.

Install saddle bags

A bolt is underneth the driver seat at rear. Hard to see. Maybe pull off driver seat first the rear seat - be sure you are using a soft saddlebag
support. Don't get bags caught in wheel
