Question about 2007 Harley Davidson FLSTN Softail Deluxe

1 Answer

Nothing happens when the ignition switch is turned on

I washed and dried the bike and then replaced the passing (aux. lamps) lamp bulbs from stock bulbs to the next brightest (bright white) HD bulbs. After changing the bulbs I started the bike and checked the bulbs, everything was fine. 2 hours later after the sun went down I wanted to see how bright the new bulbs were. I turned on the ignition switch and nothing happens. Main fuse? But why would it blow? never had this problem before. Any info would be appreciated.

You should not change the wattage on bulbs as the increased load may wreak such havoc with your electrical system.

I would wonder that the main fuse would blow, do you have any power to anything?? Maybe you blew a lighting fuse.

If you find the solution please make a comment and post it.

SOURCE: No power when I try to start bike, just a click…

Check the battery connections. Remove, clean and reinstall them. You probably had them off doing the wiring and they aren't making a good connection now. Always remove the negative first and install it last.

SOURCE: blows ignition fuse when key is turned on

Look for a grounded wire on the ignition switch or a break in the wiring leading to the fuse. Wiring system on motorcycles are a close system with only the battery being grounded to the frame. Any loose connections or breaks in the wires that will allow the current to jump to the frame with cause you tons of fun.

SOURCE: My 2007 HD sportster nightster is not starting.

I have had the same problem. Been throught two batteries, new cables, checked the fuses 999 times. It only starts every now and then. You must take a wrench and get the positve cable just right and it will start for a week or so then back to the same thing. You would think after building motors for so long Harley could at least make a bike that starts.

Passenger side turn signal flashes faster but dont work even at day runing light, comes on when head lights are on, replace bulb and socket because was melted but stilldoes the same

Turn Signal Lamps
The turn signal lamps may only be activated with the ignition switch in RUN or BULB TEST position. The T/SIG fuse supplies ignition voltage to the turn signal switch. When the turn signal switch is placed in either the left or right position, the turn signal switch sends an ignition voltage to the hazard lamp/turn signal flasher, which sends an on-off signal to the turn signal switch. When the turn signal switch receives the on-off signal it will send that signal to the following lamps on the LH or RH side:
?€¢
The Rear Turn Lamp

?€¢
The Turn Signal Indicator

?€¢
The Sidemarker Lamp

?€¢
The Sideview Mirror (Pontiac Thunder only)

The turn signal switch also sends a separate on-off signal to the Daytime Running Lamps (DRL) control module, which relays the signal to the appropriate front turn signal. The front turn signals are grounded at G101 and G102. The rear turn signals are grounded at G401. The sidemarker lamps are grounded through the corresponding front parklamp.
The sideview mirror turn signals are a bank of LEDs placed behind the mirror glass.
The hazard lamps operate on battery voltage. The HAZARD fuse supplies battery voltage to the turn signal switch. When the hazard switch is pressed, the turn signal switch sends battery voltage to the hazard lamp/turn signal flasher, which sends an on-off signal to the turn signal switch. The turn signal switch send the on-off signal to all the turn signal lamps, causing all the lamps to flash including both IPC turn signal indicators. The hazard lamp/turn signal flasher is grounded at G200.
When the parklamps are ON, the sidemarker lamps receive voltage from the park lamp supply voltage circuit and illuminate. The sidemarker lamp is grounded through the corresponding rear turn signal. When the turn signal switch is place in the left or right hand position, the rear turn signal illuminates and the sidemarker lamp will loose its ground, causing the sidemarker lamp to turn off when the turn signals are on and to illuminate again when the turn signal is off.
Which blub an socket did you replace ? check the other blub ? The switch and or the flasher module can cause this problem .
Replace the turn signal switch. Refer to Multifunction, Turn Signal, and Hazard Switch Replacement - On Vehicle in Steering Wheel and Column.

warning lamp some used for warn low oil pressure, etc.
Wtith the bulbs use for most warning light circuit it is hard to determine whether or not the filamente is good. Will be a good idea to replace the bulb.
For test the faulty warning lamp, turn the ignition switch to START, this light the warning lamp. I f the light does not come on , disconnect the sender switch lead. . Use a jumper wier to connect the sender witch lead to ground. With the ignition in RUN the warning lamp should light. If the lamp is illuminated replace the sending switch. If the light does not come on,either the bulb is burned our or the wiring is damaged.Use test light for confirm voltage is present at the sensor terminal connector. If there the bulb is bad.
God bless you

Tail Lamp Stays On

You turned the ignition key to the wrong position when you took it out of the bike. that is the 'P' park position. It allows you remove the key to leave the bike on the side of the road with the tail lamp on as a warning in case you break down or in an emergency.

3 blinks indicates lamp door is not on or has not been reinstalled properly. This also could mean the lamp door switch has failed itself. Try removing the lamp door and putting back on, if that doesnt correct the problem then I recommend having the switch replaced.

Hi Tony, obviously there is a problem in your light circuit. For your lights to keep burning out you have either to much voltage/amperage getting to them or a loose or broken ground in that front light circuit. I would first do a charging system test at the battery, voltage at 3000 RPM'S should be 14.3 to 14.7 volts anything higher replace the voltage regulator and make sure it has a tight clean ground. Other than that you will have to check all your wiring and connections from the ignition switch to the passing lamp switch and the high/low beam switch for worn or chaffed wires and corroded, broken or loose pins. HI,
You can visibly inspect the lamp to make sure the bulb behind the glass is intact & the round part of the bulb is clear & round. Otherwise if possible return the lamp for exchange. If the same thing happens then the lamp ballast is likely bad. I have many in stock I can diagnose it.

I have a Samsung DLP 50" TV (HL-R4667W) that has been nothing but trouble. The bulb has to be replaced about every 6 mos or the set turns itself off. I believe there is some other problem other that the...

If the color wheel is the problem you can generally hear a high pitch whine coming from the TV. If it is seized the lamp will ignite for a few seconds and then shut off.

The ballast is only used to ignite the lamp, it shouldn't cause the TV to turn off once it is on.

Since the TV shuts off after it is on I recommend the following:

1st - The lamp cover has a safety switch. if the lamp cover is not pressing on the switch, the TV will turn off after random periods of time.

2nd - The other thing to check is the fan for the Lamp. If the fan is seized or spinning slowly, the lamp will heat up and trip the thermal protection switch. Once that happens the lamp is super hot and could rupture while cooling down.

My sony wega kf-50we620 has no picture...lamp light on

Yes, you'll need to replace the bulb. Since no electronics stores stock rear projection bulbs, you'll need to look online for the actual lamp. You can get by for awhile by removing the lamp and blowing on it to remove any dust. I did this with mine, but the fix only lasted a few weeks. I was able to find a new lamp online for around $100 and my wife was able to replace it without issue.
