No the 500 is a lot bigger and it's a twin cylinder too.it's the same engine these use in the gpz 500 and eliminator 500 and er5.

i`m thinking it might not be releasing the emergency brake all the way check the rear brakes to see if the cable is slightly loose if not then it`s still grabbing the brakes and thats the problem it should have a slight looseness to it when there not in use they may have rusted and stuck part way on try a little wd40 lube spray just on the cables.

The plug for your bike is an NGK B8ES or a B8EG as alternative. The correct gap is 0.8mm.

G'day icm I,ve got some stats for you: 02-05 klf 250= in:0.15-0.20 mm ex:0.18-0.23mm. this should be about right for the E model as well. both the kle 400 and kle 500 from 1991-2005 carried valve clearances of= in:0.13-0.18 mm ex:0.18-0.23mm. regards....tabbycat.

Not a solution but -
if you put your batteries in a battery charger (normal battery charger) and charge them, they will work sooooo much better.

Just keep doing this every time they seam to be dull (after many clowdy days)

The dulling picture really sounds like a lamp failing. You would need the sony lamp xl-2100u
The ghost image may be easier to fix, sometimes as lcds age you will get a slight shift in a color. deep in the sony menu there is a parameter (menu-setup-imageshift) that will give you 3 levels of correction, this may solve this issue.
