No spark at the plugs

the things i would check are the pickup coil, the ignition coil, cdi box, the ignition switch and the kill switch. I just purchased a 4 wheeler that they changed everything electrical on it. come to find out the kill switch was melted onto the muffler causing it to be always activated. if you get a repair manual or look hard on the internet you can get the proper readings to ohm test your pickup coil, ignition coil and cdi box. the ignition switch can be tested with a test light and the kill switch should not be grounded unless activated. (hook a test light up to the positive side of the battery and then touch the kill switch wire. if it lights up there when not in the kill position you have a problem)

Wire diagram for kill switch 1988 kawasaki kz 250

I found this diagram in the Kawasaki Z250, KZ305 Manual printed in 1981. Kawasaki's official website also only has the KZ 250 listed in the early 1980's.
An online PDF of this owner's manual can be found here:

I need to know how to wire and open circuit teather kill switch on my 85 250r 3 wheeler

The kill switch is operating on the same principal as a light switch in a house. It merely closes or opens the circuit. Shouldn't take you long.

I have a 1998 CR 250 Just replaced the cyc head , jug along with piston and reeds. Starts and rund just fine till it warms up and it start to cut in and out and the kill swithch will not work. the funny...

I believe u have a short will the kill switch. Disconnect the kill switch and try your bike and tell me. The kill switch grounds the coil, when the coil is grounded u have no spark so motor doesn't start. I have seen this problems a lot of times and it is the kill switch to blame.

Bike wont kick over

do u have any spark at the spark plug. When the kill switch is faulty it won't give any spark try disconnecting. sometimes this kill switch grounds itself or the contacts stay closed. For it to have sparks contacts should be opened. This kill switch grounds the coil so the engine stops running

92 Cb250 Nighthawk won't start

Check the side stand kill switch. It kills the engine so that you don’t start out with the side stand down. If broken or out of adjustment, it would kill the spark. Check for a broken wire at the side stand switch and coupler. Try moving the kill switch by hand. If that doesn’t work then wire a jumper around the switch to bypass it. Check the fuses. Is the handlebar kill switch on? Check the operation of the ignition switch and all kill switches with a volt ohmmeter.

A “very helpful” rating for this answer? Thanks!
