SOURCE: need to bleed my clutch on 1998 ducati monster

Patience young Skywalker. It took me almost 3 hours to get a good clean bleed on mine. I suggest this method. Get a friend. One person goes down to the clutch bleed screw, the other stays on the clutch handle. Crack open the clutch bleed screw, THEN depress the handle slowly, and before the handle bottoms out tighten the bleed screw. Do this for 2 or 3 full resevoirs, and whatever you do, DO NOT let the resevoir go enpty. You MUST install and tighten the cap each time you fill fluid. It will not bleed without the cover in place. After you get a "pedal", pull the handle all the way to the stop, then release the bleed screw untill clear.

I have for the first time in my life a ducati monster 900 from 1994 and I see in the clutch the visor to check the oil but not oil on it, can anyone tell me if that is right? thanks

with the bike level you must see oil in the sight glass, just below the clutch cover
( the clutch itself is a dry clutch no oil)

Fitting Ducati 748 clutch slave cylinder to square case 900 1978

hi,not up to speed on your bike, but if the reservoir is empty then you have a leak, check master cylinder and work your way down to the slave cylinder for anything obvious,it mite be very slight leak but over a long period of time it will empty the reservoir,i know mine does(748)albeit very slowly, clutch slave cylinder is a favourite place for leak as it gets quite warm down there, wouldnt have thought you will need a new clutch
unless it slipping
hope this helps

After replacing starter and removing slave cylinder, clutch fails to work

sounds like you have a air pocket or you fail to engage the slave cylinder push rod If you disconnected the slave cylinder from the hose proceed to bleed out the slave cylinder if you didn't take you slave cylinder and whit out disconnecting the hose and make sure the push rod is against the clutch push arm.

I've got a 98 Monster 750. I just replaced the Slave Cylinder with an aftermarket Moto Wheels Slave Cylinder and now the clutch wont engage. I've bled the system and the Clutch Lever seems to have appropriate resistance. However the clutch won't engage. It has a very weak feeling of pulling when it's in gear but throttle input does not affect it. Thanks to anyone and everyone that can help.Have you checked with MotoWheels about their unit? They'd know it best, and could hopefully shed some light on it. What kind of bleeder did you use? I've had the best luck with a MightyVac set up, where you draw the fluid out from the bleed screw, rather than pump the lever.,,,
