Use the key that you have for the bike. If you dont have the key you can use any barrel key to unlock the door cover on the tank. If you bought the bike used they may have added the keyless accessory just push the center of the lock and unscrew it like a vehicle gas cap.

If you have over 15000 miles I would change the spark plugs and clean the air breather for starters to see if that will help.

Dose anyone know if they had starter problems with the 2008 street glides??

is it turning over and just not starting. If so try cleaning your carbs, more importantly, pull your jets and give them a good cleaning. If your running gas with ethenol, over a relatively short time it will clog your jets up

My 2007 flhx street glide is shutting off while riding on freeway

Hi Bakerfamily0, and the usual suspects are:
1. Severely discharged or damaged battery.
2. Loose, corroded or broken battery cable.
3. Alternator not charging or below normal rates.
4. Failed ignition coil, ignition/electronic module.
5. Failed CKP, CPS, CMP, MAP, TPS, or BAS sensor.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Water or dirt in fuel system, carburetor or filter.
8. Fuel tank vent system plugged or gas cap not venting.
9. Fuel tank empty.
10. Fuel valve vacuum line broken or carburator vent line closed off.
11. Restricted, blocked or kinked fuel line.
12. Failed fuel pump, pressure regulator and or fuel injectors.

Rode all day, stopped for gas, 2 miles down the road it died and wont start

Take your fuel cap off and smell. Is it gasoline or diesel fuel in the tank? Don't laugh or think I'm crazy. I've seen it done plenty of times when a service station does not change the color the pump handle covers.

If it is indeed gasoline, it may have water in it.

2007 Street Glide shuts off between 4 - 10 miles into ride. Will start back up after a few seconds and run fine. Dealer unable to find any cause.

i may be wrong but it sounds alot like a fuel tank venting problem, this may be blocked or not letting enough air into the tank to replace the fuel you have used, this causes a vacuum and the fuel cant flow from the tank to the carbs, after you stop the suction will stop ,letting the fuel flow back to the carbs, check this and see how you go,(i had similar problem on my katana,i just popped the gas cap and problem went away) i later found the vent to be blocked....hope this helps

Yes it is a vented cap which is stuck in the closed position. Get a new cap and you will solve your problem

08 Street Glide install bub full exh with crossover, eliminate o2 sensors and install power commander and add o2 sensor electric caps,Check engine lite is on

Your check engine light is on because you are not providing the proper signal that used to come from the oxygen sensors. Install the sensors in your new exhaust (yes, drill it and put them back in), then connect the wiring correctly and it will work.
