Sorry to be the bearer of bad news but your carb needs further cleaning, most likely in an ultrasonic cleaner. The passages are very small in the idle and midrange circuits and are very difficult to clean out.

SOURCE: Vstar 650 classic. only will idle.

hello and welcome
this is a very very commom problem after the cycle has gone over a storage period of anything over a month or so. what has happened is the deteriorated fuel has plugged the idle jet, and possibley other jetting. this is verified by pulling out the choke allows it to run. because this makes of for the loss of fuel the jets are not produceing. so to fix this you will need to remove the carbs and take out the jets and clean them thoroughly with a carb cleaner and possibly a very small gauge wire to break up builup. especially in the pilot jet. unfortunately fuel added carb cleaners dont seem to work for this kind of problem and to fix right they should be disassembled and cleaned thoroughly. thank you.

Do it start on choke only and will not run when choke is off. carb need to be dip and soaked in carb cleaner , Note Completely apart no rubber or gasket in this solution. Blown out after 4 or five hours of soaking and reassembled.

2001 Yamaha TTR90 hard to start cold

My guess would be that you have dried out seals/gaskets taking away from the overall compression. This will either get better with use as everything lubes up or you will have to replace all that are leaking.

My saw starts and runs "roughly" With the choke

Unfortantaly its awaly the carb with this kind of tool Its a two stroke so you mix oil in the gas then it sits aruond for a couple of years until you need it and the oil gas mixture gets gummy and sticks the neddle valve witch lets the fuel into the float bowl and also shuts it off Try this get some starter fluid get the thing running on choke and spray it into the carb it may clean up some of your problems But the best thing to do is take apart the carb and clean it then it should work like new and its realy not that hard to do and you don;t need any new parts it can be done on a table in 20 minutes

Bike starts, but when I let choke of,it starts to miss, gas has been all drained out,new fuel added, spark plugs replaced, problem still presist

It sounds like your bike has been sitting a while? The jets tend to clog up rather fast these days with our "new better" fuel. Especially if its been left out in the sun. The choke is actually an enrichment circuit on these carbs and essentially it bypasses the carbs. So if your having a problem with your carbs putting the choke on basically bypasses the problem but normally it doesn't help once you give it throttle... although sometimes it does because its adding that little bit of extra fuel the bike needs to run correctly, but either way you've got an issue with your carbs and they more than likely need to be taken apart and properly cleaned.

Starts on choke but dies when moved off choke

If it will start on choke and die when choke is taken off...the carb needs to be taken off and cleaned. The main jet in the carb is probably clogged.

Suspected problem with choke.

hey apparently and did are two different stories draining the float bowls and cleaning the carbs are two different things the fact that the choke dosent change suggest the carbs are stopped up after sitting for 1 year clean the carbs let them soak in carb cleaner and blow them out with high pressure air, keep notes of the adjustments befor you dissasemble them (air screws)

Engine dies

Your carburator is gummed up !
Take the float bowl on the bottom of the carb and spray the main fuel jet out with cleaner, do this to the idle needle valve also. If that don't work pull the carb & take apart & soak overnight in parts cleaner & blow out all ports & orfices with compressed air.
Next time you store your generator with gas in it , use a fuel stabilizer !
Good luck !
