At speeds of 40mph starts chugging a bit wondering if it could be air filter or coil pack

first thing to try is the fuel filter, if its partly blocked some fuel will pass allowing for some speed, but after more fuel is needed it cant pass fast enough so your car will chug or act like its cutting out, my 94 explorer would run fine up to 35mph, but after that it acted like it didnt have power and even died a few times i changed the fuel filter and the issue went away AGCO Automotive Repair Service Baton Rouge LA Detailed Auto Topics What...

Bad gas cap? Are you sure this is a fuel issue? Sounds more like a bad coil/ignition module.

My 2000 Neon goes fine for a while then cuts out, misses, and sometimes dies at high or low speeds. I'm going broke having mechanics try out "fixes".

Any trouble codes from it,check engine light? Have the fuel pressure checked. It may read good when first started but after fuel pump heats up from running for a while, fuel pressure may start to drop too low for proper operation. Does it seem to take longer to cut out or act up when fuel in tank is closer to full, then empty?

I have a 50cc moped qt jinlun i just bought anew carb when we start it, it run for a while then just dies as if starved of petrol i know it works by a vacuum it will go down the street for a minute then...

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

To my understanding, most of these China made scooters uses a vacuum controlled cut-off fuel valve. Vacuum is tapped either from the carb out or intake coupler to activate and allow fuel flow; no vacuum no fuel from tank. Possibilities are:
  • no or little vacuum to allow fuel flow;
  • vacuum controlled cut-off fuel valve faulty.
A workaround is to install a manual cut-off or bypass it entirely.

Incidentally, the 'revs like mad' is a result of slight overflow when fuel first flows to a starved/empty carb bowl.

Good luck and thank you for using FixYa.

98 gsxr cuts out around eight g when accelerating but fine in N

Sounds like you're running out of fuel. It doesn't take much power (ie, fuel) to rev it in neutral, which might explain why it does that fine but falls over under load. Checked your fuel pressure/pump/filter?
