Question about 2006 Yamaha YZF-R6

Hi, Anonymous and the usual suspects are:
1. Ignition Switch not in the "ON" position.
2. Engine Run Switch in the "OFF" position.
3. Discharged battery, needs to be 12.5 volts or better and be able to pass a load test if necessary.
4. Check the battery terminals for damage or corrosion check the battery cables at "BOTH" ends for loose, corroded, or broken connectors, "INSIDE" and outside the cable harness, perform connector wiggle test and check cables with an ohmmeter if necessary.
5. Tip over sensor needs a reset.
6. Faulty ignition switch.
7. Faulty starter button.
8. Faulty kickstand or clutch pull in switch/sensor.
9. Starter control circuit, relay, or solenoid faulty.
10. Main fuse or circuit breaker may be blown or faulty.
11. Check for engine trouble codes.

Go to your local locksmith mate. If you have lost your key he will probably want you to remove the ignition switch and bring it in to him...ask first !....Good Luck to you friend....Tim

could be a safety shutdown by computer, only your dealer can erase the code....and then you'll find out whats wrong...and why the computer doesn't want you starting and damaging the bike.......Good Luck to you friend....Tim

ALWAYS have a fire extinguisher on hand when working on carburetors.
Remove the water trap bowl at the bottom of the petcock, (gas valve). Is there any water or trash in the bowl? Drain a cup of gas from the tank. Is there any water or trash in the cup? Dump it, clean it and re-mount it, ( not all bikes have a water trap bowl ).
Drain the carburetor. There should be a screw on the lower side of the carb float bowl. Remove the screw then replace it after the fuel drains. Turn the gas back on and wait a minute for the carb to fill with gas. Install a new stock NGK spark plug and try to start the engine. If the bike doesn't start and run properly then shut off the gas and remove the carburetor from the engine.
Remove the float bowl and clean the entire carb with a spray carb cleaner from the auto parts store. Wear protective goggles to avoid getting spray in your eyes. Spray into all the little airways and fittings in the carb. Before putting the slide back in the throat of the carb, move the clip on the jet needle one notch lower. Put the rest of the carb back together, clean the air filter and install the carb. Let the float bowl fill then start the engine. This process should get you back on the road.

THE OPERATION OF THE CLUTH ON HIS MODEL IS OF CABLE TYPE, IF THE CLUTCH IS OPPERATING CORRECTLY THE 1ST THING TO CHECK WOULD BE THE CABLE, REMOVE THE CABLE YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO PULL THE INNER WIRE SMOOTHLY TO AND FRO, IF YOU NEED TO USE ALOT OF EFORT TO DO THIS THEN YOU WILL NEED TO REPLACE THE CABLE,MAKING SURE YOU HAVE ADEQUIT FREE PLAY AT THE LEVER WHEN RE FITTED. OBSERVE THE ROUTE THE CABLE TAKES BEFORE REMOVAL AND REPLACE IN THE SAME WAY, YOU MAY ALSO TRY TO GET SOME LITE OIL DOWN THE CABLE, THOUGH I SUSPECT THIS WILL BE ALMOST INPOSSIBLE IF IT IS THIS TIGHT TO OPPERATE
