sounds like tranny problem/ and a bit of carb trouble i suggest clean the carbs/clean the tank....put some seafoam in the oil drive about a mile then change the oil don't dive any farther than that with seafoam in the oil or the clutch might burn out (seafoam is at any auto store 8-10 bucks does awesome things)

In addition to all of the above suggestions (which are all quite good actually) - it's entirely possible that what you hear is the front brake pads clattering in the calipers. You might want to take a peak into the brake system, too.
Problems like this are typically pretty easy to find - checking the bearings and forks as discussed above is a good starting point.
