Question about Honda GL 1800 Gold wing Deluxe Motorcycles
The flashing of the indicator is hondas self diagnosing function. in this case it is code 3.
This is the code for the shift switch. most likely what as happened is the electronic shift switch harness has developed a short or open. it is very common for water to get into those harnesses and cause these codes or water, corrosion, or slighly disconnected connector can make this code appear below the front fender you should notice two connectors attached to the frame. one round white connector and a square looking gray connector, the gray connector is the connector for this harness. i would reccomend inspecting the connection of this connector, and all the harness leading to it. if nothing is found then it is likely that water may have gotten into the harness and with the use of alot of compressed air, sometimes you can clear most of it. accessing it by peeling away some of the black tape that seals off the insulator for this harness.
Thanks for contacting Fixya.
