SOURCE: my 1984 gl1200a goldwing has a rattle in motor when it is accelerated quickly when in nutral and rattles when riding above 3200-3400 rpm changed oil cut filter apart no metal in it sounds like spark k

1. add an octane booster to the fuel or try some high octane fuel (93 or above) and see if it stops rattling. Also make sure that the engine is not being lugged (throttled hard at low engine speeds) while in driving. If the rattling goes away or decreases check the fuel quality or, it probably has some engine issues like carbon build-up in the engine, overheating, or the timing may be off, or the engine is not running on all 4 cylinders.

How to get the tranmission pan unscrewed to change Gasket 1984 chevy c10

If you are going to change the gasket, you should also change the filter at the same time, especially if it hasn't been done recently. You will need a large drain pan to catch oil in because there is no drain plug. Remove the bolts down both sides of the trans pan, 1/2" I believe, and loosen the back ones 3 or 4 turns. Loosen and slowly remove the bolts on the front of the pan because oil will start to drain from there. Once the oil has drained remove the back bolts and drop the pan. clean it out good and check for "stuff". It's normal to see silver filings in the oil but an excessive amount or actual pieces indicate a problem. Two screws should remove the filter. Replace it and put the new gasket on and set the pan in place. Bolt it on. Torque specs for these bolts are 12-13 ft.-lbs for the Turbo 350 and 400. The 700R4 is torqued to 18 ft.-lbs.

If you have trouble getting at the rear bolts on the trans pan, you may need to unbolt the trans mount and lift the tailshaft a little with a jack to get enough room to get it there. Be gentle doing it.Hope this helps.

Water found in engine oil

By water I,m guessing it's actually coolant. the most common cause would be a waterpump seal. there is usually a tell tale hole on the waterpump cover that will weep coolant if the seal is failing. Other causes can be a leaking head gasket but you will generally notice a change in performance.

Chang oil and care of filter of oil

Hi,

How to change Oil>>
Step 1.
Put the bike and your tools in a convenient place. Raise the bike onto its kickstand in a clear area that can get a little dirty. Gather your new oil, tools, rags and drain pan in one place so you don't have to run to get a tool in the middle of the oil change.
Step 2.
Find the drain plug and filler cap. Before you begin to work, make sure the engine is not hot, though it should be slightly warm. Remove the filler cap so that the oil settles to the bottom of the can and can be properly drained.
Step 3.
Place your drain pan underneath the bike's drain plug. You can use a flat piece of metal, or even a piece of cardboard, to channel the oil into the drain pan.
Step 4.
Use a socket wrench to open the drain plug. Open the plug slowly so any built-up pressure can diffuse. Keep an eye on the oil's flow so you can catch as much of it as possible with the drain pan.
Step 5.
Change the oil filter. While this is not strictly necessary, it's a good idea to take the time to change the bike's oil filter. Locate the oil filter using the motorcycle's manual and replace it with a new one.
Step 6.
Replace the drain plug and refill the oil. Make sure the drain plug is securely fastened and then pour fresh oil into the tank, using the amount of oil that is specified by the bike's manual.

>>After 5000 kms you need to change the filter. Oil brand is a matter of preference as oil and filter is really a cheap price to pay so that your engine will last and last.

please rate this solution.
Thanks for using FixYa.
