remove the door panel, from the inside you should have access to the window. lift the window up unto the raling. Check to see if the railing is not bent or why the window came off the railing.

I had a 99 with the same problem, and suggest you check under the passenger side front carpet. Remove the flat door kick plate, lift up the carpet on the front passenger side floor and you will see a large wiring harness running along the floor, wrapped in black tape. Water and salt gets into this harness and will rot out several wire splices that you will see. Look for wires that run from 2 wires down into one (under black tape.) These are spliced together, and rot out. There was several large gauge wires/splices(windows up and down) and I think 2 very thin wires/splices (lock/unlock) . Even if the wires look connected, give them a good tug, they will come apart and be green with corrosion. This is a very common problem and worth the effort to check out. Repairing these splices fixed both the power windows and locks at the same time. Good luck

SOURCE: 2001 Pontiac Aztek power windows do not work when

Inside the door is a pair of rods, connecting a wire in a figure 8 pattern. There are four tiny little plastic tabs that surprisingly, break off fairly easily. I had mine break off when A GPS suction cup prevented the window from going down in auto mode and the window dropped into the door. Without those four plastic tabs, there is no way to connect anything and you have to get an entire new assembly for your window. You might be able to fabricate yourself some new ones, but if you can do that, then you're not on this site to begin with. The dealership wants an arm and a leg, but the unit is fairly self explanatory as long as you're comfortable taking your door apart and working on it yourself.

None, just replace the switch. The flashers are controlled by the Body Control Module and you can't disconnect that.

Power windows in 2004 Pontiac Grand Prix all quit working?? how do I fix this....??

Hello Cindy Cox,

power windows are generally on a circuit breaker...
Yours: $7 ...
PWR WDO circuit breaker (25 amp on fuse panel)

I'm not sure how you are "following" but my first
best & always recommendation is to get a
good FACTORY GRADE WORKSHOP
REPAIR MANUAL.

Having a couple of lifelong careers using drawings
THE LEAST FRUSTRATING are paper...

You can view FREE drawings (and technical service
bulletins (TSBs)) on BBB Industries website at
BBB Industries Premium Alternators Starters Power Steering Products

Look at Body & Accessories... Windows
(the display has an annoying tendency to switch back to TSBs
but there is only ONE drawing taking you back to your "BREAKER"... so it should not be too perplexing.

I looked on ROCKAUTO for your BREAKER... but only
found 30 AMPERES... I do not recommend you
TOY with the wrong breakers...

That can cause an expensive MELT DOWN if not a
whole-sale fire... Your BREAKER may be quite legitimately
OPERATED (open) because of a hard fault... TYPICALLY
in the most used, abused & weathered switch in your car...
THE DRIVER'S DOOR SWITCH...

Try disconnecting the driver door... allow time for the BREAKER to chill out and see if the other windows might start working...

ELSE...
Get out your volt meter and test the switches on the drivers door switch for proper functionality...

2000 pontiac montana power windows stopped working ,checked fuses, all good ,checked voltage all good except where the up/down switch is the voltage is1.5 it reads 3.5 then goes down 1.5 .any suggestions?...

Manual window crank changeover would mean a different regulator and door panel for each door. It's very common for the wire harness between the A-pillar and the door frame have damaged wires, particularly the system ground wire.Really need to check that circuit! You can supply your own ground to the switch and recheck the operation just to verify and eliminate the harness as an issue.
If you have full battery voltage and a good ground circuit to the pin connector on the master window switch, then it's probably just the switch and the dismantler near you should have one for less than $20.

Drivers window in pontiac montana 2002 went down and will not come back up. how do i test to see if the switch is working. The right window is functioning very well.

Most likely the window motor/regulator assembly has gone bad.Check for good fuse, if good pull out the switch and make sure you have power to it, if you do then remove door panel and test for power at motor, if u have power but motor won't work replace. Suggest replacing the regulator assembly as well because the cables often fray and cause problems as well.
