Excessive smoke It actually a 1981 H-D Wideglide which I couldn't find in the list. -- I replaced all the gaskets except the bottom end, and rebuilt the oil pump. now it smokes from both cylinders and when i pulled out of the drive, it left a stream of oil on the pavement, i believe the oil came out of the breather tube. Can the oil be backing up in the engine ? i have 25 lbs of pressure and the oil is flowing back into the tank, but is it flowing fast enough ?

After winter the oil comming out of the breather tube is normal as the bike has been sitting for a while (I own a 1980 since 87) i also had evolution valve stem seals put in the valve guides, as it is normal for a shovel to burn a liter of oil per 1000km, but with the newer valve stem seals, hardly any oil burns

1985 Ford F150 302,5.0 Smoking running Rich and idling high and low

first of all u need to determine what color of smoke it is and is it coming out of the exhaust pipe. black smoke means excessive gas burning ...blue smoke means burning oil ...white smoke if seen in warm weather conditions means coolant leak into cylinder heads... but as running rich and high low idle might have a vacuum leak or carburetor need new base gasket or rebuilt ... good luck

I've been told by my trusted neighborhood mechanic that my '95 Isuzu Trooper LS (3.2 L) has a warped head gasket (has been running low on oil- now runs very rough & spews out blue smoke from...

Blue smoke is oil burning, white steam/smoke is coolant burning, it will be a sweet smell.
You have a choice, repair the head gasket (if there is coolant in the oil, the bottom end needs rebuilt also) which is around,$300-$1000 depends if a garage or you do it, the problem with doing a head gasket is there is no garantee, if you replace the engine with a used engine you have a 90 day/ 1 year warantee, your choice. about the same cost.

Badger 5 insink erator is leaking out of bottom. Is this a seal or something that can be replaced?

If it is actually leaking from the bottom there is nothing you can do except replace it, there are no user servicable parts in the bottom end on disposal. I would carefully check around drain outlet and gasket where it mounts on bottom of sink. If it's leaking around drain outlet from disposal there is a replaceable gasket there or on underside of sink where disposal mounts. If you find that it is leaking from either of these locations I would be happy to instruct you on how to change them Hope this helps you, Thanks.

Excessive smoke. i think the oil ports in the head are clogged. how do i check them and clear them out?

If the smoke comes at start up then after a while goes away it is your heads -take them off and have them looked at in a machine shop If the smoke comes from a load on the engine then the piston rings are going bad -time for a bottom end rebuilt

My truck smokes too much

sound like you have a leaking head gasket , or possible oil rings on the pistons are worn, if you have the head gaskets replaced check the clearance for the oil rings , mechanical shop can do this , just let them know to check them , but i would start with replacing head gaskets , if the smoke it white then you are leaking coolant into the cylinders , either way the head gaskets will fix

I purchased a 1981 Honda Silverwing 500 gl. There is coolant leaking periodically from the small right side bolt on the very bottom engine cover. The dealer replaced the mechanical seal on the end of the...

hi
sounds like you have a small fracture in the casing (cover)
i would start at the basics and replace the casing (cover)
but whatever you do do not overheat that engine
with that engine the barrels are part of the engine
and cannot be replaced
and if you overheat that engine
the engine warps rather than warps the alloy heads

failing that failing the replacement of the casing
the bolt hole that the bolt goes into
at one time may have had a longer bolt in there
and has gone through the bottom of the hole
there is a product called chemical metal
take the casing off clean all surfaces
mix up the chemical metal and fill the bolt hole up
you will now need to re-drill the hole and tap a thread into it
rub down any excess chemical metal
and make the surface flat again
new seal (gasket)
use some harmalar (instant seal) if need be

Water leaking from the front-bottom of the freezer drawer

A faulty door gasket will definitely cause excessive condensate and running time. There is also a door heating system which is from heated refrigerant circulating around the area where door gasket meets cabinet. You should be able to feel a certain amount of warmth in this area. If not there could be condensation again from cold leaking out of the gasket and being formed on the actual cabinet.
