I was just wondering "How tough can this be?" So -I went out to the mini Blazer (also an 84) and gad-zooks- the air injectors , power steering, Most of the unmarked emissions lines and a fist full of wires.
So get out your camera and note pad, sticky notes and magic marker. Get an 8139 Chilton book and have at it.
I would assume that the leak is the valve cover gasket. The head gasket has no oil around it only combustion gases and coolant. This is were I would look first, however it could be possible for there to be oil coming from the head its self and that could be a crack in the head near the valves.
check the fuse for it and probably your relay is bad because it's not supposed to get hot. if you wanna check it you can check for continuity with a multimeter/ it should have a diagram on the side that tells you what pins go together. the one with the doted line should not have any continuity. if it does change your relay
Well it can happen to the best of us check your firing order again it's actualy pretty simple.
1 3 5
2 4 6 This is how the firing order is 1 3 5 being in the back of the engine towards the fire wall and 2 4 6 in the front. Just place the wires on the corresponding numbers.
Is it "trying" to start or just cranking? Is it backfiring? Need more info.
