Shifter will not come out of park, how do I fix it?

Same thing happened to me, I had it computer analyzed and it turned out to be bad injector # 3, cost about $300 replaced.

it may be a brake light switch. on most vehicle the brake light switch releases the shift lock that may be your problem

Check the brake lights when the the problem occurs, the system has an electric interlock that dis-engages a lock-out pin and allows you to come out of park only when the brake light circuit is active and it gets a 12 volt signal from the brake light switch, other issues are the solenoid that pulls the pin back and the cable and linkage sticking, pull the cover off the linkage and make sure everything works freely.

you have to remove the screws (or bolts) inside the center console compartment. pry up the little ring around the shifter. pull up the e-brake and pull that whole assembly up. once removed there is a small 194 bulb located on the drivers side on the bottom. you should see the little black base. twist counterclockwise to remove. replace bulb and reinstall
