Blue smoke start up

If it started to smoke after a service but didnt before, check for over-filled oil.
Otherwise it is a valve seal or piston ring gap issue.

I have a 2003 Honda 919. I was low on anti-freeze and rode the bike pretty hard. The next morning there was white smoke coming out of the exhaust. it will start after driving the bike for a min. What is...

That would be my guess. Could also be a warped head. White smoke usually means that you are getting water (coolant) into the combustion chamber, so steam (water vapor) is coming out the exhaust.

I would pull the head, examine the gasket for signs of damage, have the head checked for cracks and flatness (no warp). If the head is damaged, repair or replace it. If there is no visible damage to the head or gasket, check the block carefully. If no damage, then put a new gasket in it and put it all back together.

There is white, damp exhaust smoke coming from tail pipe. 110 to 120 compression on all 8 cyl. Tis is a 2500 series with 230,000 kms. It hauls 10,000 lb boat and is not strong on the hills.

OK, white damp smoke indicates a coolant leak into one or more cylinders, probably from a head gasket blown, unfortunately.

One should have the head gasket(s) replaced.

as long as the smoke clears right away I would not be to concerned, the smoke is caused by worn valve guides and seals,

Smoke exits from bike

get a mechanic, clean up the carburettor, and your silencer as well as change the engine oil. re tune your fuel gauge air screw to optimal power settings. remember incorrect settings of the air screw might adversely damage the bike's performance

New Suzuki Swift smoke coming out of bonnet

A wet and dry compression test, and a cylinder leak down test will narrow down this issue.
It's not unusual for an engine to smoke slightly until it's warmed up, especially if the choke is set a little rich. With only 400 miles, the rings are certainly not yet completely worn in and are not sealing yet. Depending on the oil used, driving habits, the engine can not be expected to be completely broken in for at least a couple thousand and as much as 5k miles. I used synthetic oils from the start, and the rings didn't start to seal well for 7k miles. It still uses very little oil at 88k miles, although piston slap is now evident cold, and another o/haul is scheduled for this winter.
Does that make sense?
